RAW Teases a Jog to WrestleMania...

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   A Merry Monday to you! There isn’t that much going on in the Wrestling World at the moment so, rest assured this post will be considerably shorter than the last one 😉 I can ramble on about a couple things but I shouldn’t take up too much of your time. Ready? Here we go.   Usually we pitstop over in the Realm of AEW to see how they’re doing but things appear to be going nicely and there’s quite a bit of time before the “real stuff” gets going so let them simmer this stew.   What has my attention today was the report that WWE is having trouble filling the 3 hours for SmackDown. Now this is a prime example of their Creative Department lacking creativity. This is not how it should be. I’ve said before that there should be an abundance of ideas not a deficit. If this was a regular old fictional television show, they’d have the next season already written maybe even the one after that depending. The only ones I know of that fly by t...

SmackDown Maintains the Pace to WrestleMania...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Friday! So, we have a few things to chat about this evening. AEW has been getting my attention and it appears to be for the right reasons, more or less, so they’ll take up the first half and then it’s on to the WWE Universe. Can you hang with that? Let’s get into it. Just note that I got a lot to say today so, this will be one of the longer ones. Feel free to skip ahead if you’re not interested 😉   As said, we’ll start in the Realm of AEW as preparation begins for the showdown between Swerve Strickland and Jon Moxley. The face-to-face they had this past Wednesday was poised, to my slight surprise. Though Mox, may be registering at a “6” there are different colors to it and this time around, he offered Strickland a fair share of respect, as he should ‘cause Strickland is a good wrestler and Mox was honest enough to offer praise and hope. Mox will be Mox however so, we’ll see what Strickland does with this “chance”.   In ter...

RAW Maintains a Steady Pace En Route to WrestleMania....

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? How’s Monday treating you? I’ve been kept busy. As for the Wrestling World, I’d say it’s a slow news day so this post will be brief. So, without further ado, let me get into it. The biggest thing of note today is that Endeavor, the parent company of TKO, owner of WWE, has privatized today. It is no longer a publicly traded company. Now, I’ll be honest and admit the full implications are lost on me but given the state of affairs in the United States right now, I don’t blame the head honchos for wanting to secure some control.  At a glance, I would say this could set the stage for more in-house politicking and ingratiating since the public will have less of a say in how things go. Shareholders will have to see what those in charge do and see if it’s worth sticking with. It’s hard to move under privatization so the long term effects have yet to be determined. Guess we’ll see if this change affects presentation but for now, WWE has to be more concerned more...

SmackDown Does as It Does and Picks Up the Pace En Route to WrestleMania...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Friday! So, I think you all know what we’re gonna talk about today. At least it will keep the post brief. I got stuff to do this weekend 😉 Let’s get into it, shall we? Here we go.   Focus was on the Realm of AEW this Wednesday as Jon Moxley reverted back to his masochistic ways by taking a set of nails to the back. In most cases, I would admonish this unnecessary show of violence but this time around, I found it well-placed. This is more “fodder” for his enemies than anything else. This time, this is “evidence” which is exactly what it ought to be.   My only real issue concerns sanitation. Are those nails sterilized before being used? It would be quite the shame if all this potential gets flushed down the drain due to a case of sepsis or a nasty case of lockjaw. I’ll be fine with it if it suits the Future and is done with some consideration. No one told him to kill himself. Not sure what that would prove or serve. ...

RAW Works Up to a Power Walk to WrestleMania....

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Enjoying the additional daylight? Spring is almost here. In the meantime, there are a few things simmering on the back burner, so to speak. Are you up for chatting a little about them? It’s just a little. I’m not trying to take up anyone’s time. This shouldn’t kill ya.   So, we’ll take a short visit to the Realm of AEW as life appears to carry on. Jon Moxley found his cat burglar costume and took a crowbar to Swerve Strickland’s knee and put a Curbstomp to his busted eardrum before skedaddling off and cutting a promo. It does appear true to form and if I may say, it seems to be an indication that Mox has turned it up to a “6”.   As much as we can tease him for the “hit” it’s playing better amongst commenters. This angle has finally reached 50/50 status as opposed to all 👎👎👎 That’s all I was going for. Given how early it is, it’s no big deal if spectators don’t get it but at the very least, they have to be entertained and Mox l...

SmackDown Joins the Official Walk to WrestleMania....

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   It’s rainy and cold in Southern California so, there’s plenty of reasons to stay inside. As for the Wrestling World, there are few things going on but nothing too startling. Shall we have our little chat? Let’s.   So, let’s swing by the Realm of AEW as they had their Revolution Fallout this past Wednesday. We had some poignant words from a more…contemplative Jon Moxley but it’s Papa Christian who stole the show. I would say MJF and MVP were a respectable second. I think they may serve well as “instigators” so to speak. I think I’ve already shared that I feel MJF should “make the call” but it’s looking like Papa Christian should “light the fire” more or less. And Chris Jericho can be on standby for that as a contingency. The Future needs help to remain Bright and these gentlemen may serve this…transition well 😉 Hopefully, they can pace this to start popping off next year.   Also in AEW, Mike Bailey debuted. He’s such a retro thr...

RAW Starts the "Walk" to WrestleMania...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Adapting to the Time Change, if you're in a region that adheres to Daylight Savings Time? That’s me, for sure but it’s not as bad as it has been in the past. That I can certainly say. As for the Wrestling World, the big news is over in the Realm of AEW. I don’t have much to say but I have some things. Shall we just get into it? Why waste time? So, by most accounts, AEW’s Revolution PPV was a success. Many commenters are bemoaning the main event with Jon Moxley retaining over Uncle Edge even with Papa Christian cashing in his Championship Contract. From what I could gather with the clips floating around, it wasn’t that bad. Mox is not a great wrestler. He’s entertaining. He’ll brawl with the best of them but he’s not pretty in the ring. Never has been and personally, I don’t need him to be. He makes the “blue collar brute” thing work enough. I’m fine with witnessing an ass-kicking. That coupled with Uncle Edge being 405 and only getting older, I think ...

Elimination Chamber 2025 - SmackDown Fallout

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Friday! So, there isn’t anything crazy going on but we definitely have a few talking points. Are you up for a little chat? I’ll try to keep it brief. Let’s chew this fat.   We’ll do a quick stop in the Realm of AEW as Uncle Edge appears to have “stripped” Jon Moxley of his Death Riders. The last one, Wheeler Yuta, was always on the fence though he appears to have accepted his fate. After an honest throwdown, Uncle Edge did the one thing Mox may never, offer him a friendly handshake and show of respect. The sincere gesture seems to have brought back some of the “old Yuta” and Mox finds himself standing alone ahead of his showdown with Uncle Edge on Sunday.   A lot of commenters still don’t get it but that’s fine. Uncle Edge is serving the idea well and I’m not worried about it. The Future continues to look Bright and they just have to keep things engaging until the “real stuff” starts to happen. Let them lay the groundwork. ...

Elimination Chamber 2025 - RAW Fallout

Image
A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts!   My goodness!  Well, as you know there’s plenty to talk about and we’ll get into it. This past Elimination Chamber was by far the best one I’ve ever seen but it leaves us all wondering. What is a WWE Universe with a Heel John Cena? The argument can be made that this was always the case but if so, how do they make operating with the “lifted veil” palatable? It looks like we’re about to see. Let’s not waste any more time and just get to it.   Though the impossible/inevitable happened, most would say that the Unsanctioned Match between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn was Match of the Night. I wouldn’t deny it but I have to say the Men’s Elimination Chamber is what held the bulk of my interest.   I thought it was cleanly executed and truly presented who our “characters” are. Say what you will, CM Punk is an “Anti-Face”. He won’t bend to the Corporate Will, but he will make them money. Seth Rollins continues to hold old grudges. ...

Elimination Chamber 2025 - Matches of Interest

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   So, this is a first. Here we are, at Elimination Chamber and I don’t have any Matches of Interest. That seems bad but to me… I think it’s kinda perfect.   This is a state I never thought I’d see in the WWE Universe. This is a turning point. It becomes something else at this point and what exactly, I don’t know. It’s exciting!   Now, some of you are going to look at this funny but if you’ve been watching for the past 10 years or so, you have to see this has gone from absolute crap television to palatable TV. I can’t talk half as much shit about it anymore.   Many of you may beg to differ but I’ll just say our tastes differ and venture to say you watch it to crap on something. Kinda like people who like Maury Povich or Jerry Springer. You look at it and feel better about yourself. Fair enough. It’s not a judgment, just an observation. This is how you may lean.   I don’t need to crap on something but I like ...
