Crown Jewel VI 2024 - RAW Fallout

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Did you have a chance to catch Crown Jewel VI? It was a solid show from start to finish. There really wasn’t a bad match. Some commenters may disagree but given how PPVs were hit or miss not too long ago, WWE has nothing to be upset about with last weekend’s display. It was what a wrestling show ought to be. Why don’t we talk a little about it, among other things? Most would say that GUNTHER vs. Cody Rhodes was Match of the Night though I preferred Kevin Owens kicking it old school and going ballistic on Randy Orton. I don’t know where it goes but I’m fine with Owens “keeping it real”.  Some people griped about the Bloodline Match with Roman Reigns losing clean to Solo Sikoa. Many also noted how this match had the least “wrestling” as well which should have been expected. The Bloodline and all those associated have never been great wrestlers. They are “ass-kickers” for all intents and purposes. If you’re looking to them for a fine wrestling match, you’re se

Crown Jewel VI 2024 - Matches of Interest

What’s Going On, Enthusiasts?  It’s another Crown Jewel and I’m not sure we can call it an “exhibition” anymore. It’s much more of a spectacle now, which is the natural progression. Imagine that 😉 The whole card has the potential to slap, as the kids say, but will it? It’s not impossible. Given what’s on the docket, these following matches are the ones I’m looking at. They give me a lot to think about. We’ll start with Liv Morgan and Nia Jax. These Davida vs. Golitha matches are always amusing because it’s always how is that little one gonna do it? All Jax has to do is trip and Morgan is dunzo.  So, how do we stay invested in the match? It’s all up to Morgan and probably some interference from Dominik Mysterio. Is Mysterio about to get “squashed”? Or does Tiffany Stratton cash in? That would be the obvious route. It has been teased.  All I ever asked with these sorts of showdowns is believability. I don’t mind interference or slight cheating as long as it’s semi-realistic. We know J

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Friday! So, there are few things going on. Some of them a little bittersweet but there’s enough to get a decent chat going. Up for it? Let’s do it. So, let’s just swing by the Realm of AEW for a moment to check in on the Moxley Takeover. Looks like they had some fun this past week on Dynamite with Darby Allin dropping from the rafters. Personally, I’d have him do that on top of someone but I can understand the safety issues with that. I also liked how Orange Cassidy presented his case and how Wheeler Yuta used himself as bait. I can understand him sticking to the devil he knows with Bryan Danielson/Daniel Bryan out for the time being. Where else would he go?  As for the man of the hour in Jon Moxley himself, I think these in-between times would be best used to implement some “charm”. If this is gonna go for a year or 2, this has to remain engaging. So, during the “lulls”, perhaps this is a time to show what he has to offer. Maybe elaborate more on his

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   A merry Monday to you! So, there’s not that much for me to talk about. Things are going on but nothing that’s rattling the cage enough for me to talk about it much. Given that, this should be a brief post. Care to take a little time to read through anyway? Here it goes.   Let’s begin with our brief stop in the Realm of AEW. The BCC took it a little easy this past week as Yuta Wheeler explained himself. That’s all fine and good. I hope he paves a respectable path for himself.   I’ll just close on the matter by dropping my final submission into the Suggestion Box.   Towards the end of this ordeal, I think it’s fine for people to start lightly “Dead Naming” Mox. Naturally, this should come mostly from former WWE stars but it should be kinda subtle. Like, someone saying something along the likes of “I knew a guy by the name of Ambrose who did something similar…” or “This seems like something someone called ‘Dean’ would say…” Someone could be so bo

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Friday! Well, it’s a busy night in Southern California as all sorts of things are going on tonight. The Lakers have a game. World Series, Game 1 is on and there are few other events that have the streets set to be all jammed up in a few hours. I’ll be safe inside but good luck to all those out there in the thick of it.   As for the Wrestling World, there are some things rattling around but I’m only going to talk about a few of them. Are you up for it? Let’s get into it.   I’ll take a quick pit stop in the Realm of AEW as I do have my eyes on the BCC/Jon Moxley “usurpation” of AEW. I saw that “disclaimer” they were using for this week’s Dynamite warning everyone of Mox’s expected presence and I would have only used that in the locker room. There’s something about this angle that seems best not forced. Given the tone of the fan comments I’ve been seeing, most aren’t really sure where this is going or if they even like it so, I wouldn’t tr

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Not much is happening over here. Well, the Dodgers won the National League playoffs so, people are vibing off that at the moment on my side of town but besides that, there isn’t much to report. Kinda hot but not unusual for Southern California. As for the Wrestling World, there are a few things going on. Some of it may be a little upsetting but we should, for the most part, carry on. Let’s discuss, shall we? We’ll make a quick stop in the Realm of AEW as Jon Moxley continues his “SHIELD Vendetta”. All I’ll say is that whenever someone calls the “psychiatric hold” on him, it should be about the halfway mark of this story. I don’t know if they can drag it out over a couple of years but they should try. And whoever “turns Mox in” should be “anonymous”. It should have a “Who shot JR?” kinda feel to it. Was it Tony Khan? Chris Jericho? Renée Paquette?!? Or could it be someone in the BCC? It should drive Mox a little nuts, if you know what I mean. Also, Mox shoul

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Friday! So, there’s not much to chat about but what there is, we could go for a while on so I’ll keep this post to the point. Ready to get into it? Let’s dive in. In the Realm of AEW, we have the fallout of Bryan Danielson’s/Daniel Bryan’s full-time retirement as Jon Moxley has declared himself “in-charge” of AEW and is pretty much just taking over with BCC.  If I’m looking at it right, Mox is taking the advice of doubling-down on himself. You don’t find any of this familiar? He’s running with a crew, who jumps fools while he rocks the mic declaring that a new order is in town. Meanwhile, everyone is pissed! Jon Moxley is Dean Ambrose and Dean Ambrose is Jon Moxley. We’ve seen this before. This is how the SHIELD rolled and now he’s got more cronies and way more clout. There appears to be a new “Architect” on the block. This is where it gets interesting to me because you can go in a lot of different directions. I hope AEW Creative is doing some rese

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? So, some stuff went down over the weekend. It’s nothing devastating. We mostly knew AEW was having their WrestleDream PPV and the headline was “retiring Bryan Danielson aka Daniel Bryan”. Did that happen? Yes and no. I didn’t watch the whole thing but I caught a couple matches just to see how they’re doing and of course, I have some notes. Wanna hear ‘em? Here they come. So, in the Realm of AEW, it looks like Will Osprey, Ricochet and Konosuke Takashita took the top spot for Match of the Night. I don’t need to take a look to believe that but I did find that Willow Nightingale and Mariah May had the 2nd spot so, I just had to take a look to see if it warranted the attention. Well, it’s not like the action we’d see from WWE Ladies but it was executed in earnest and that all-outedness earned them a great deal of endearment. They may not want to hear it but the display came off as real cute and I mean that in the best way. They may not be the most skilled pra

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Friday! So, there’s a few things we can chat about today. I’ll keep to the point since there’s not a whole lot going on but there’s enough to have decent conversation. Ready to get into it? Let’s. Let’s start in the Realm of AEW first as Bryan Danielson/Daniel Bryan is putting his 😡 face on and coming for Jon Moxley. Moxley has professed walking into the “mouth of war…” this Saturday at AEW’s WrestleDream PPV. Danielson made sure he does it with a few bruises as he gave Mox what for all around the ring, backstage and back this past Tuesday. I did a little homework this week and caught his and Wheeler Yuta’s match against BCC members Claudio Castagnoli aka Cesaro and PAC. All I’ll say is that Danielson has every right to put his foot right up Mox’s ass and he pretty much did that so, good for him. Mox asked for it. Not sure how this plays out in the match but it’s nice to see Danielson can man up when the situation calls for it.  It also bodes well
