SmackDown Starts to Think About Packing...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Seems like this was a fair enough day for most of us, but it looks like this is a tough year for the Anoa’i Family as word broke today that Afa has passed away. Most knew he was unwell but with the recent passing of Sika, 2024 is shaping up to be a bittersweet year, at best. My sincere condolences to the family.

He was another one that I didn’t see in action but if you guys ever catch some early episodes of the original Miami Vice, you can catch him in a small role being some thug’s muscle. His time on screen is brief but he made an amusing impression. I can only imagine what I missed.

In lighter news but not exactly more uplifting, it appears that Bobby Lashley is no longer with WWE. If you check WWE’s Alumni page, you can find him listed there.  You can see Bo Dallas posted there too, so it’s kinda hard to accept the information there as complete fact but if you haven’t seen them on WWE TV in a while, I suppose it’s safe to say they’ve moved on.

Most commenters aren’t surprised and I’ll just keep to my previous sentiments. Bobby Lashley is fine but he kinda lacks in the charisma department. He’s a type you have to keep off the mic and just let him destroy fools. Also, his muscularity often impeded his movement, making him look awkward in action sometimes. His physique is a selling point, so I would never suggest for him to slim down, but he definitely needs to put some thought into his mobility. Maybe take up yoga or something. Improve his general flexibility so he can meet in the middle, sort of thing. Get a handle on that, and he can go anywhere he wants. All the best to him.

Elsewhere in the WWE Universe, it seems like “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is getting ready for next year’s WrestleMania. He’s out and about looking jacked. Good for him. We all know that’s tough to do at his age. Not sure who’s gonna get the business end of his shoe but I’m always down to watch. I’m stoked!

And so, that more or less brings us to tonight’s SmackDown. Nia Jax is gonna celebrate her Queendom. Naomi is going to see what Blair Davenport’s problem is. DIY is going to see if the Street Profits can do anything for them. Kevin Owens is gonna limber up with Grayson Waller’s help and the Bloodline Saga continues. Given the recent news, we can safely presume that Roman Reigns has other things on his mind. Would Solo Sikoa be so callous to take advantage? Looks like it might be so.

The unofficial watch party starts at 8pm PDT. Join in if you don’t have anything set for your Friday evening.

See You in a Bit.
