Night of Champions 2025 - SmackDown Fallout

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Happy Independence Day to my fellow Americans. Yeah, it’s a bit of a mixed bag right now but I’ve always been in favor of the concept of this nation even though execution has always had much to be desired. Regardless, it affords me a day off and some time to relax and get acclimated to my new/temporary surroundings.

As for the Wrestling World, there’s not that much going on for me to get interested in. There’s always plenty but you know me. I’m only interested in so much. I did, however get a bit caught up with some of the goings-on in the Realm of AEW.

You may have realized that I’m only concerned with the Future and at present, that involves Adam “the Hangman” Page. This mustachioed hero isn’t having any of Jon Moxley or his Riders of Death, even if they’re lady-folk. The “shocker” was him taking out Marina Shafir this past Wednesday and it’s hard to say she didn’t have it coming. She did slap him a bunch of times 😉 Mox, of course, didn’t so much go apoplectic as pace around like a caged animal. I found it fitting. It’s not the sort of response he’s looking for, especially from some “crybaby”.

Mox and Hangman are set for a “Texas Death Match” at AEW’s All-In and I’ll be sure to take a look. See what madness transpires. I’m not expecting Hangman to be triumphant but he should leave it out there, nonetheless. When it comes to Mox, let’s just hope he doesn’t bleed out. That would ruin the Future.

Over in the WWE Universe, we have some administrative news as word is that AJ Styles re-upped for a year. I believe he doesn’t want to box past 50 but I thought he was 47 or so. Shouldn’t they book him for the rest of that? I would. Sure, he could get hurt or what have you but Styles is choice talent, no matter how you cut it. He doesn’t mess around and makes anyone he works with a better wrestler. That’s hard stock to find and I’d pay him on the merit, but that’s just me.

What’s also interesting to note is that the contracts for both Karrion Kross and Scarlett are supposed to be up this month but many figure they’ll be re-signed. I don’t mind Kross though he comes off a little hard to take seriously. Yet, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. He does have sort of The Brain vibes as in “Pinky and the Brain”. He always seems to have some “devious scheme” in play that comes to naught. I’m fine with this as long as there are liberal amounts of intended humor. He doesn’t need to be a buffoon but more, odd with a comical twist. He should still get people but it may come off more as a prank or set-up. There’s room to work with, I think. Guess we shall see.

And that, for the most part, brings us to tonight’s SmackDown. As Night of Champions Fallout concludes, the show will be back down to the original 2-hour format giving those staying at home plenty of time to enjoy the evening with family or friends and those not, are still out on the town when it’s still technically early.

As for the show, we can expect Tiffany Stratton to chose an opponent for her title defense at Evolution. Jade Cargill will see how the Queen of the Ring crown fits while Cody Rhodes checks his new kingly robes. And Solo Sikoa will assess his new “family” as they break in the new addition in Hikuleo and continue to re-establish the Bloodline 2.0.

The unofficial watch party will start at 8pm PDT. Me and the fam will be chomping down on burgers and bräts. Hope you and yours are enjoying the day.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
