RAW Keeps Heading to Night of Champions Like Nothing's Going On...
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
It’s a bit uneasy for us Americans as we all are aware of the
conflict in Iran. Word is that Qatari airspace is “closed” at the moment and Qatar
shares a border with Saudi Arabia and so, there’s some trickle-down effect circling
Night of Champions. Will it still go on? So far, it’s looking like it but a lot
of people are wondering if this will be at the cost of civilian life. The situation
isn’t ideal but word is that a ceasefire has been issued between Iran and
Israel so we’ll see if they’ll honor it.
As of now, plans appear to be holding but if they’re going to
change, it will have to be decided before Wednesday because that’s what’s supposed
to be the talent travel day. It’s a mixed bag within the IWC. Most feel WWE/TKO
will push ahead in the name of money but there is a general sentiment that the
show should probably be cancelled in light of these tensions and the US’
questionable involvement.
This is not new territory. Traveling to the Middle East is always a
dangerous endeavor for us Westerners but it seems particularly sensitive at
this time. Iran is mad. Israel is tired of it and everyone else seems more or
less caught in the middle. I know that’s an egregious oversimplification but I
have to admit my ignorance here. I will never even start to try to address the
issues in the Middle East but I will always respect them. The best I can do is
conscientiously object. I hope for peace but I know maintaining it is the real
challenge and so, I’ll just say I don’t think the whole thing is worth risking
anyone’s life over. However, if the coast is clear until at least next Monday,
I don’t see much stopping people from proceeding. Let’s hope no one regrets it.
In lighter news, John Cena made quite the impression last week on
SmackDown. The Counter Pipe Bomb or maybe it should be referred to as Cena
calling in the “bomb squad”. However you want to call it, it was done
beautifully. I was very proud. Cena is finally beginning to understand Heeldom.
It’s fun, right? Besides, a good heel ought to be liked and I think Cena is starting
to perfect his formula. What does this mean for CM Punk? Well, in terms of
execution, all he has to do is not roll over. I don’t mind Cena winning. It’s
his retirement tour. But no one wants a boring match. Punk knows how to keep
things competitive and interesting so I feel we just have to step back and let
these gentlemen cook, as the kids say. I’ll be waiting with my plate 😉
And so, that brings us tonight’s RAW. It’s the Go-Home
Week but we’ll be standing by to see if they actually get to Saudi Arabia. I
wouldn’t mind a venue change but I get that’s a nightmare. In the meantime, we’ll
see how the Ladies’ Queen of the Ring Final will shape up as Jade Cargill takes
on Roxanne Perez. We’ll have a little chat with Goldberg. Bayley will see if
she can take that Intercontinental Championship off of Lady Becky Lynch. And we’ll
have the loaded Semifinal between Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. The spoilers have
trickled in but I’ll see what they did with it. Execution is always key.
I should get to the replay party during the 9 o’clock hour but
bear with me. I’m in the midst of packing up and whatnot so, I’ll be a bit
distracted but that should ease in the next couple of weeks. This isn’t my
first rodeo.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
