MITB 2025 - RAW Fallout...
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
Enjoying this Monday? I’m making
the most of it. I took it off for some personal reasons. Got some stuff I have
to tend to but it’s not so much that I can’t keep up with what’s going on. There’s
a lot of chatter on the social media but it seems more than ever that most of
it’s suspect but we’ve got some talking points anyway, so why don’t we just dive
in, hmm? Here we go.
So, Money in the Bank has come and
went. The highlight was the return of R-Truth or of Mr. Ron Killings as it
appears we’re meant to now call him. The question of the hour seems to be how much
of this was a work. Was the release a complete orchestration or was this an
organic reversal due to fan pushback?
It's hard to say. I’d say that the
timing of his release is a bit suspect. You could say that his match with John
Cena was supposed to be the last hurrah but seeing how Killings was used just
before the release, you’d think that if it was always intended, Killings would
have known and probably would have let some time pass and his absence to go
more or less unnoticed before dropping the news.
There still could have been some
pushback but in the face of him no longer being used, the release could have
seemed more matter of fact than prompt full outrage. If this wasn’t a work, then this
may be more the tactic going forward. There’s always been talk of the WWE Brass
not caring much for fan influence affecting the final decisions. If this wasn’t
intended, they set it up to backfire pretty cleanly. Word is that Nick Khan had
to track Killings down himself to flesh out a new deal.
All in all, I’m glad we got a real
happy ending and I hope Killings takes full advantage of his stay of execution.
WWE Brass are making it clear that talent shouldn’t expect these sorts of turnarounds.
People can return but when you’re released, you’re released.
As for the MITB show itself, it
was a solid one. I think it was one of the better ones I’ve ever seen. Most
would say that the Men’s MITB Ladder Match was the Match of the Night but I’d say
the Ladies came out and did their job. They came out and set the tone of the
night and did so like true professionals should.
Lyra Valkyria and Lady Becky Lynch
earned their keep while John Cena and Logan Paul engagingly imploded. Paul managed
to grind our gears while executing moves we all feel it’s not fair that he’s
capable of. The use of the ring cam also rubbed many the wrong way as he made the
match more about showboating than completing the assignment. Yet, you have to
accept that was all part of the plan. He’s the guy we love to hate and he’s beginning
to embrace the role.
Yet, with the return of
R-Truth/Ron Killings, most of us forgot about the pairing of Cody Rhodes and
Jey Uso. Not that they performed poorly but they were fully upstaged by
Killings’ assist and that I wouldn’t say is a bad thing. It sets us up
beautifully for tonight’s Fallout.
Name of the game now shifts to King/Queen
of the Ring and Night of Champions set for Saudi Arabia. But first, we’ll hear
from R-Truth/Ron Killings himself. Then, we’ll get into the King/Queen of the
Ring business. GUNTHER will see if Jey Uso has anything left in the tank and if
not, he’ll gladly take the Heavyweight Championship. For some reason, Nikki
Bella will be in attendance tonight as will John Cena. We’ll have to check in
and watch if want to see what it’s all about.
The unofficial replay party should
start during the 8 o’clock hour, Pacific Time, since I’ve got the time. We’ll
see if we can piece together the current game plan.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
