Was Able Get Clash of Champions Down...Hopefully RAW Is a Good Chaser...

A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts!

So, who caught Clash of Champions?  To be honest, it wasn’t nearly the clusterfuck I thought it was going to be. There were some things to be desired but given the current state of WWE affairs, it was a better show than I anticipated, that is for sure.

When it just came to the wrestling, Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro nailed it with the help of of the Lucha House Party in the form of Lince Dorado and Kalisto.  The Luchadores are taking jobbing to the next level, I have to say.  It was a fine display of what the WWE has to offer in theory.  It is obvious, the talent isn’t the problem.  Nakamura and Cesaro were smart to just kill it and get out.

As for the rest of the night, it wasn’t bad.  The Ladder Match though creative seemed a little…forced I guess.  The hijinks, though funny, kind of diminished the match.  Sami Zayn, Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles are all great wrestlers in their own right so, to have them “tricked” out of the match could be viewed as a waste of talent.  Yet, I can see how that sets up rematches and new matches for Hell in a Cell in October so, if this leads to new match-ups amongst them, I’ll accept it.

I kinda had the same problem with the Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton match.  McIntyre came out ready to beat Orton senseless just like he ought’ve but when Shawn Michaels came out, it became clear this was more a gimmick match with all Orton’s most recent rivals banding together to get him in the Ambulance.  Now, for me, I think if they were going to go here, they should have had everyone they could get that’s no longer active but had a beef with Orton do a cameo and get a hit in.  John Cena, The UnderTaker, Edge should have hobbled over, even Triple H should have taken a hit.  Seeing how this is a common WWE go to, when in trouble rustle up veterans, they might as well have gone all the way and made fun of themselves.  So, I’ll say this.  From here on out, might as well save these sorts of matches for the WrestleManias and Summer Slams so they can go all out.  Otherwise, just let the wrestlers fight.

I’ll just touch briefly on Bayley’s match with Asuka ‘cause again, the Ladies are simply being underutilized.  If this ever reaches any of them, flesh out your own stories.  If what you come up with is better than Creative’s offering, go for it.  They just don’t have any ideas at the moment for them so they might as well brainstorm.  All of them have something to offer.  Might as well do it for themselves.  With the stacked roster WWE has, Asuka doing double duty is easier than putting anyone else out there?  That’s all I’m going to say.

So, that brings us to the main event.  Though all the problems I anticipated arose between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso, they got through it.  It wasn’t bad…it was definitely intense but I’m not sure this is a lane they want to stay in.  With the creative department suspect at best, this slippery storyline can go sour so fast.  Unless Reigns and The Usos have the lead on this, I wouldn’t expect this angle to be played too long.  I know the word or the expectation is a match with The Rock for next year’s WrestleMania but I would expect that more for 2022 if ever.  In order to keep us interested, every step would have to be fleshed out and I just don’t trust Creative to set it up right, at least not right now.  I would say, for their sakes, take as much time as they possibly can before setting up a match with The Rock.  We want to be able to enjoy it, not light up all the things wrong with it.  Right now, just not sure they could knock it out of the park.  Just look at it.  Do they seem ready?

And now, we’re at fallout.  The show wasn’t bad but it certainly displayed a lot of the problems WWE continues to struggle with.  RAW will attempt to address some of those issues first by explaining why the Ladies Tag Team match was rescinded.  The reason going around is people turning up positive for COVID.  Asuka and Zelina Vega will go at it one more time as is customary.  Andrade and Angel Garza will have to wait for their rematch against the Street Profits as word has it Garza suffered a real injury at Clash of Champions.  Let’s wish him a speedy recovery.  And Drew McIntyre will see who else wants a shot at the top prize.  Funny tweets get retweeted and as for Likes/Favorites, well, you see the state of things.  Don’t feel the need to hold back but don’t go out of your way either.  We want our comments to stem from a place of authenticity.  As I’ve said, we’re not here to troll.  We’re gonna talk shit until we can’t talk shit anymore.  It may take a while, but something tells me, we’ll get there.

See You in a Bit,
