RAW Is in a Pickle. They Have to Earn Their Keep...
A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts.
Well,
this is a bit of a loaded RAW set for tonight and I’m not talking about the
line-up. There’s a lot riding on this show whether people realize it or not.
This may be the epitome of being damned if you do and damned if you don’t as
the RAW roster tries to figure out
how to bolster its street-cred. Now, I know not everyone is going to get axed
but this isn’t exactly the best time to have an off night. It’s bad enough most
probably won’t have the best material to work with to start. I really don’t
envy these guys. SmackDown held its
ground now RAW has to prove it’s
worth a damn.
Guess
we should be glad that Asuka took it upon herself to lighten the mood with a
little poke to Dave Batista. She’s got this photoshopped image of her head on
his body circulating around Twitter and the exchange between the 2 of them is
cute. I might even say it’s some light, harmless flirting. It’s a pleasant
distraction.
Outside
of that, people appear to be accepting the recent releases as talk on the
reasons why start to die down. I have to say I was rather taken with the last
profile statement I saw on Tommy End’s/Aleister Black’s Twitter handle. I think
the title of “Sin Eater” is quite fitting. Watch The Order with Heath Ledger if you don’t have a point of reference.
As for the releases, it’ll be a few years until we see what’s really what. The
WarnerMedia and Discovery merger could still fall through among any number of other
things going down.
At
least WWE should be in a good position to make a move by then. In the meantime,
I think it doesn’t hurt to be hopeful. If WWE does manage to partner with or
acquire AEW, at least we know End/Black will have a place to go. Another point
is that this potentiality may be the source of the EVP infighting rumors over
at AEW. Some of them probably don’t like the idea of being under the WWE
umbrella. If they don’t officially become 1, then I wouldn’t be surprised if
they bring End/Black back. I don’t think they realized how much of an effect he
had on the fanbase. He was compelling. That doesn’t come around often. I was
definitely looking forward to his dark brand of mayhem. Look upon times like
this as chances for WWE to learn a little humility. The first big lesson coming
out of the pandemic was the importance of fans. A secondary one appears to be
know when you have a good thing. That track record of hoarding and tossing
talent caught up with them. Another reason I don’t envy the RAW roster tonight.
Some more cases and points come in what’s advertised for this evening. A Tag Team Battle Royale is scheduled to decide the #1 Contender for the Tag Team titles. At least half of their fates hang in the balance. We’ll also have the contract signing for the WWE Championship Match between Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre. It’s a little early for this so I wonder if that means there are hijinks waiting in the wings. We’ll have to watch and find out. Funny tweets and Likes get retweeted. Let’s say a little prayer for them and hope for the best.
See You
in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
