RAW Hammers in the Tent Posts for the Biggest Show of the Year...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Is this Monday treating you well? It’s been a rainy one for Southern California. We can’t complain since we’re constantly under drought conditions. We don’t always know what to do when water falls from the sky. That is why pro-wrestling becomes a welcome distraction. Let’s chat about what’s going on, shall we?

So, word is that Kenny Omega is open to a WWE run. This is something I never thought he would consider but seeing how he’s done everything else in pro-wrestling, he might as well. My only concern is I’m not really sure what they’d do with him. He’s kinda cheesy so…I don’t know how they’d introduce him to the WWE Universe. I think many of us have heard of him but I don’t think anyone has ever been salivating at the thought of him in WWE. I feel that would be the biggest hurdle. How to bring him in and make WWE casual fans give a damn. Well see if hell freezes over here.

Speaking of the WWE Universe, the grapevine holds whispers of members of the roster bemoaning the use of legends and celebrities for WrestleMania this year and many commenters are responding with the general sentiment of “Get over it…”. I kinda have to agree, especially with it being in Los Angeles this year. It should be expected that it will be a more flashy and over the top affair.

This year more than ever should accentuate the popularity contest nature of WWE. I’m not praising it just stating facts. There are a lot of talented of people on the roster but who cares unless they entertain. I’m not saying it’s right. Again, it’s just the state of affairs. I’m not proud of it but you see why it’s that way. We’re here to escape and get a little nuts. We need to let our  imaginations roam a bit and whoever hits the mark, hits the mark.

And notice how that is the great equalizer. Would anyone have imagined Sami Zayn’s rise 2 years ago? We don’t care how you get it done. All that matters is that you make it to the finish line. Zayn is nailing his assignment. It's as simple as that. So, if members of the roster are feeling left out, unfortunately it may be an indication of a lack of popularity. That’s a hard thing to fix too. Try to, and it can come off forced, leaving a person less popular.

The forgotten have to be crafty to drum up buzz for themselves without coming off desperate. We’ll see who does what. This “news” also comes with an addendum that Triple H is more interested in a smaller show for WrestleMania and here I kinda disagree. It is WrestleMania and it should be jam packed with whatever they can stuff it with. It ought to be a spectacle so, I hope they go all out. Take full advantage of it being in LA. Wait for Pittsburgh or somewhere similar for the “smaller show”. They get pissy over there anyway. Why drag things out 😉

In any case that brings us to tonight’s RAW. The big headliner appears to be a Tag Team match with Lita and Becky Lynch teaming up to face Dakota Kai & Iyo Sky of Damage CTRL. We’ll see if this goes to plan or just becomes a free for all. The Miz is going to have a special edition of MIZ TV. Carmella will take another shot at Asuka. Brock Lesnar appears to have made the trip to tease whether he’ll face Omos for shits & giggles. And at some point, Piper Niven will see if she can sit on Candice LaRae. That’s what I’d do anyway.

Feel free to join the recap on Twitter with me. I have fun with it and I suggest that you do too. This shouldn’t be taken too seriously but see how fun it gets when you get all caught up. That’s the key, my friends. It’s working when you forget it’s all nonsense.  Some people watch football or soccer. Others join a bowling league. We… we watch wrestling. To each their own.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
