RAW Has Elimination Chamber Fallout (2023)...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Enjoying your 3-day weekend? I’m like the rest of the world and had to work on this day. I’ve had to do that before but in this case it just seems kinda strange because this place of business otherwise adheres to U.S. Federal Holidays. Just not Presidents’ Day 🤷 Well, it’s not the first time I’ve had to work a Holiday. I’ll live. Let’s see what’s going on in the world of wrestling.

So, as we all know, Elimination Chamber was last Saturday and it was a lot of fun. I was pleased. It was a tad bit predictable but I don’t want my money back. In most opinions, Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn was match of the night and I think we have to give credit to the crowd for that one. They were rivaling Seattle Seahawks fans. Didn’t think Canadians had it in ‘em 😉

There’s some pissy chatter that Reigns didn’t win clean but I don’t know when that will actually be an issue. Let’s wait for another wrestler to bring it up as beef against him. I can see Cody Rhodes playing that up and Reigns getting his feathers ruffled. Isn’t a “win” a “win”...no? See if his “ego” gets in the mix. Should make for some fun shit talk.

The only complaint I have in that regard is that since The Usos come to Reigns’ aid, Reigns should return the favor from time to time. Yeah, we know that The Usos don’t need the help but it’s the principle of the matter. If one of them is incapacitated and the other is in trouble, Reigns and Solo Sikoa should run defense just the same.

As it stands, they’re set to go a more typical route and have Reigns needing help being a point of contention all around. If Reigns returns the favor, it becomes more about “the Bloodline” and they could all use the leverage of “family” and “loyalty” in their discussions. It adds some faux depth that makes how the story  goes a little harder to call. It also gives Jey Uso “something to think about” as the Tribal Chief humbles himself on their behalf. Maybe Jey sold Reigns a little short and so on and so forth.

This stuff has to go on “forever” so they need to give themselves other places to go so we don’t have the situation read before they can play it out. It also gets the word out within the locker room. When you face someone in the Bloodline, you’re likely to face the Bloodline. We know they roll deep and they can lean into that all they want.

As for the rest of the show, I think it was well executed. The Ladies did well with their Elimination Chamber match and it was no surprise Asuka took home the prize. I wasn’t surprised with the way Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar went down. We all know Lesnar needs to generally save face and will play dirty to do so.

Personally, I liked how Lesnar took it to Lashley and it looked like it was going to be a knock-down, drag ‘em out affair but Lesnar wanted to catch a flight back to Montana so Lesnar went for the low blow and called it a night.

The Men’s Elimination Chamber match showcased the burgeoning star in Montez Ford. I’m all for seeing him in Singles action. Why not? He doesn’t need to be pinned to Tag Team work. The question just becomes what becomes of Angelo Dawkins. Not sure he can manage on his own. I could be wrong but you see what happened to Otis. What happened to his former partner? Tucker was it? WWE goes with who appeals to the masses. I just hope this isn’t the beginning of the end. For now, it looks like Ford requested some time off given how he was “injured” during the match. We’ll see where he’s at when he returns.

In any case, we now see what follows the events from Saturday. NXT takes it from here to WrestleMania so, we’ll be on the lookout for any crossover action. As for tonight, Austin Theory appears to be a fighting Champion as he puts the US Title up against a still ready and able Edge. Bobby Lashley will contemplate the future. Wouldn’t be surprised if it holds a rematch against Lesnar and Asuka will start setting her sights on Bianca BelAir. They’re still in Canada so, we’ll see who made the trek and see what awaits us from here to WrestleMania.

I’ll be doing my thing on Twitter. Come over and play along if you don’t know what else to do with yourself. Just remember, I’m on the West Coast so only find me if you have the time.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
