SmackDown Activates Cruise Control On the Route to WrestleMania...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!

Hope it’s a good one for you. So, there’s not that much going on this week. There’s stuff but you know, nothing to blow anyone’s socks off. But I think I can string together a couple points of interest. I think everyone can handle that.

So, to start off, let’s talk a little bit about Bryan Danielson/Daniel Bryan. At the end of his match at Revolution this year he was filmed saying it was time for him to “go home” and naturally, that led to numerous speculations. The simplest answer is that this is in reference to a future AEW or ROH show in Seattle but some have naturally jumped to the conclusion of him returning to WWE.

Well, that depends on what he wants. AEW is definitely becoming a place for pro-wrestling fans and is distancing itself from “Sports Entertainment” , seeming fine to leave that to WWE. So, if this was foreshadowing to a WWE return, it would be a return to more storytelling as opposed to putting on a technical match. If Danielson feels he’s done enough with AEW, WWE would gladly have him back but that will be the real deciding factor. If Danielson wants to continue to wrestle, he should stay where he is but if wants to perform, then he can return to WWE as soon as he wants.

That said, there’s talk that WWE is trying to get betting on its matches legalized and most feel this is a terrible idea. I do too mainly because that would force WWE to somehow keep match conclusions secret and I doubt they could really do that.

Everyone knows that spoilers tend to drop on Reddit and probably other places on the internet if you know where to look. So, if gambling on the predetermined product were to ever work, the outcome would have to be “unknown” otherwise all you have to do is search some Reddit threads for a payday. That, to me, is the biggest hurdle. We’ll see if this ever becomes a reality.

In any case, that basically brings us to tonight’s SmackDown. Not much is advertised but we can safely assume that it will be towards the steady build to WrestleMania. Ricochet and Braun Strowman will remain a Tag Team to face the Viking Raiders. And GUNTHER will observe along with Imperium as LA Knight, Karrion Kross, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus and Xavier Woods battle in a Fatal-5-Way for a shot at the Intercontinental Championship. I suppose whoever wins would make the best match at WrestleMania. We’ll see who WWE thinks that is.

I’m rained in again this Friday evening so feel free to find me on Twitter if you’re opting for a quiet night in on the American West Coast. We’ll have some fun of our own. And you’re always welcome to play along.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
