RAW Picks up the Pace Just a Little...

 How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Another Monday is here and there’s actually a few things I can chat about. Mostly WWE related but when is that not the case on this blog 😉 Let’s see what’s going on.

First item of note is that Ridge Holland still isn’t being allowed to live down taking out Big E. Word is that he still gets death threats over being the cause of Big E.’s broken neck and subsequently putting his career in jeopardy.

I don’t know how this solves anything. We can safely presume that Holland has already been kicking himself over this mistake and will probably do so for the rest of his years. I would. Some “out for blood” types will never be appeased. Let this resolution remain betwixt the parties involved. If Big E. can find it in his heart to forgive him, so can we. That’s all that really matters at this point.

In other news, where in the world is Bray Wyatt? There are reports that he’s been MIA for last week’s SmackDown and a house show over the weekend. Has he been benched or is this just to build anticipation with his match against Bobby Lashley? Eh, it’s hard to tell. As many of you may know, Alexa Bliss is on hiatus as well.

We can feasibly say the 2 cases are related but not necessarily mutually exclusive. Wyatt has been doubling down on “crazy” with his gimmick but as always, it’s hit or miss. Bliss had the same trouble. Well, like I keep saying, you have to respect the medium. In this case, we’re dealing with live action. It’s hard to get an audience like this to suspend their disbelief. We all know he’s flesh and blood like the rest of us so, trying to make us buy different is always going to be an uphill battle without proper framing.

The whacked out Cult Leader just works more because we can more readily believe it. There are always gullible saps willing to follow around a charismatic psycho. This is why I thought pairing Wyatt with Finn Bálor at some point would be a good idea because, in theory, Bálor could either support or refute Wyatt depending on the endgame at the time. But for that to happen, both angles would have to be reconfigured and polished.

Regardless, it’s easier for us to follow that train of thought as opposed to trying to guide us down a path of fanciful nonsense. It’s hard enough to watch this stuff sometimes so, it’s inadvisable to go out on too much of a limb. Wyatt should probably walk it back a bit. Focus more on in-ring action and dark humor. We’re a simple lot. Don’t get too complicated. We won’t bother to follow you.

So that, more or less, brings us to tonight’s RAW. We have a little under 3 weeks until WrestleMania so we’ll see some of our less popular players get some screentime.

Elias had Rick Boogs “assist” him in a setting up a match with Bronson Reed. Johnny Gargano will pair up with Dexter Lumis to face The Judgment Day. The OC will dust off their boots to have a go round with the Maximum Male Models. Brock Lesnar will stop by to chuckle at Omos and Bianca Belair will see if Chelsea Green is any use in the ring. There’s also word that Kevin Owens will have himself a Street Fight with Solo Sikoa. That could be fun. Find me on Twitter if you like playing along.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
