Bad Blood 2024 - RAW Fallout

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

So, people are having some trouble adjusting to the new 2-hour format for RAW it sounds like. Lots of comments are less pleased than stoked. People have been complaining all these years only to complain some more. Ain't that how it always goes? Well, there are few things to chat about. Ready to get to it? Let’s dive in.

Bad Blood is done and dusted and CM Punk gets to float on some bragging rights for the time being. There are some sentiments of displeasure being tossed around seeing how Drew McIntyre ended up with 16 staples in his head for an unprotected toolbox shot to the dome but I have to say, the “violence” didn’t bother me. It was exactly the right amount if you ask me.

True, I’m not a fan of the Crimson Mask and both Punk and McIntyre where wearing them but, it seemed appropriate for all the build up of the match. The usage of the wrenches was a bit hokey but it comes with the territory so, I’m not going to gripe about it. I would say both gentlemen have nothing to be upset about. They went out and “destroyed” each other and most patrons were pleased, exact opposite response of the Swerve Strickland and Hangman Page Steel Cage showdown. I’d call that a win.

My idea of Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan opening would have worked just as well but it didn’t seem to matter much. The rumors also turned out to be true as The Rock did make an appearance but it was just that. You had to look to his Instagram account if you wanted to get some commentary but it was just him riffing for the most part. Looks like they’re going for “all gimmick” which isn’t horrible if they can make it entertaining.

This stuff shouldn’t be that deep but it shouldn’t be thrown together either. If there’s an endgame in mind, which there seems to be, I won’t bitch about it but it better amount to something that at least leads to a chuckle. I can find myself a rabbit hole of fail clips if I just want to see people fucking around. All we’re looking for is if they make it work. With Survivor Series/War Games coming up, I’m expecting to see some good action with this riffing. We’ll be standing by.

In other news, Triple H has created a bit of a PR headache for himself by not really handling the representation question during the post conference. He busted out the ole “I don’t see color…” only to be greeted with a bunch of rolling eyes and “Yeah, whatevers…” He should have just stuck with the other industry standard in only seeing green, like I said. He was basically already on that tangent announcing the Crown Jewel Championship. It’s just as textbook but he would have gotten less flak ‘cause he’s proving it.

I wouldn’t be too surprised if Triple H doesn’t hang out with too many black guys but I wouldn’t expect to see him at a KKK rally either. As long as truly talented people aren’t being held back for lame excuses, I won’t bitch about this. I can understand not wanting to implement a sort of Affirmative Action just to quiet detractors. I don’t want a leg up unless the game is truly rigged and in most cases, I can get the job on my merit alone. The rest comes down to a “culture fit”.  Detractors or no, WWE has mostly been fairly diverse and global and as long as they adhere to finding the best talent, there shouldn’t be a problem. H should have said he wouldn’t care if someone purple with blue stripes is out there. As long as they kill it, the Star Trek alien can get themselves a title shot. End of story.

Anyway, that brings us to tonight’s RAW and Bad Blood Fallout. Sounds like they’re having a tough time cramming everything into 2 hours but that won’t stop me from taking a look. We can expect Seth Rollins to show up and see what’s going on. Sheamus and Pete Dunne will settle the “Butch” Dilemma. Xavier Woods gets a shot at the Intercontinental Title courtesy of a gracious Jey Uso.  And GUNTHER will dangle the Heavyweight Championship in Sami Zayn’s face and see if Zayn grabs it.

The Unofficial Watch Party will be at 8pm PDT. Stop by if you’re up for it.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
