RAW Checks the Passport Ahead of Crown Jewel...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Not much is happening over here. Well, the Dodgers won the National League playoffs so, people are vibing off that at the moment on my side of town but besides that, there isn’t much to report. Kinda hot but not unusual for Southern California. As for the Wrestling World, there are a few things going on. Some of it may be a little upsetting but we should, for the most part, carry on. Let’s discuss, shall we?

We’ll make a quick stop in the Realm of AEW as Jon Moxley continues his “SHIELD Vendetta”. All I’ll say is that whenever someone calls the “psychiatric hold” on him, it should be about the halfway mark of this story. I don’t know if they can drag it out over a couple of years but they should try. And whoever “turns Mox in” should be “anonymous”. It should have a “Who shot JR?” kinda feel to it. Was it Tony Khan? Chris Jericho? Renée Paquette?!? Or could it be someone in the BCC? It should drive Mox a little nuts, if you know what I mean.

Also, Mox should be savvy from time to time and chill. Even he can’t keep up the frenzy for 24/7, though I don’t doubt he’s come close for some stretches. But as the clamor for shutting down where we know this goes builds, he’s gotta do a few feints to make it seem like this time is different. This time has a purpose, a vision, a promised land that Mox is leading us to. We just have to be patient.

Perhaps BCC decides to help someone or another faction. Maybe they go quiet for a couple weeks at a time, making the silence a little deafening. It’s all to give the whole thing some air, let it breathe while other stuff happens and then they can go back to jumping people. Someone will “deserve it”, of course. If we remember how the SHIELD played out, the Crowd got sick of the shit after a while. Mox should be ahead of that game, at least. That can be done throughout this ordeal. All I’m stressing is pacing. Don’t spill it all out now without an endgame. Take this somewhere. There’s a lot that could go down, a lot that could happen. Have fun with it.

In the WWE Universe, the big news is that appreciated ring announcer, Samantha Irvin, has submitted her resignation and will be moving on to other endeavors. Given the way this went down, it doesn’t sound like it’s WWE’s decision. Perhaps she wants to explore other avenues or even start a family. Many suppose she’s going to lend her talents to AEW since her beau, Ricochet is there but we’ll just have to see. Regardless, I wish her well. She did a great job.

In the meantime, good ole Lillian Garcia will resume the ring announcing duties until WWE figures out a long term plan. I don’t mind Garcia either. She’s been nailing it for years so, just glad she’s available. Feel it will probably work well for Netflix also. Perhaps it’s all for the best.

In any case, that for the most part, brings us to tonight’s RAW. Still a couple weeks out from Crown Jewel so set-up continues. We can expect to see a couple of Tag Team matches to decide the #1 Contender for the Titles. Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee will pair up to see if they can humble American Made’s Creed Brothers. And the New Day will try not to get flattened by AOP. Seth Rollins will tell Bronson Reed he’s not very nice. (Did anyone notice how Moxley used the CurbStomp not too long ago?) And Jey Uso will be a man of his word and face Bron Breakker in a rematch for the Intercontinental Title.

Spoilers aren’t giving me much. Too many people sad to see Irvin go and/or welcoming back Lillian Garcia so, I suppose I have to just watch. Unofficial Watch Party is at 8pm PDT. Pick your platform and play along if you have no taste for football.

See You in a Bit,
