RAW Wishes Us a Happy New Year...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

A Merry Monday to you. So, there’s some things to chat about in the Wrestling World. There are a couple that I can think of off hand but the one you can expect will take us into the Realm of AEW so, let’s not delay. Got other things to do πŸ˜‰

So, it would appear that Our Man Jon Moxley has gone and Face turned. Is that what that is? Not that I have a problem with it.  I saw it more as the man behind the mask speaking honestly for a moment. I think, for the most part, the bulk of the IWC are fans of Mox/Dean Ambrose but there are a lot of commenters not sure about this sudden about-face.

I’m not sure that’s what it is. He’s always been intense and he’s always been about wrestling for wrestling. It keeps him “sane” and gives him a reason to get up in the morning so, I would never badmouth that. However, I do see how this seems a little…abrupt. Many are asking how does he go from trying to “kill” people to Champion of the Masses? 🀷 I’m not going to nitpick it mainly because it doesn’t affect the Future. This actually is a great way to lowkey initiate it. No one should see it coming.

Yet, how does it manifest? Many are seeing the Don Callis Family taking over top Heel Faction so, I would suggest that they get a bit cerebral. What do we love/hate about Mox? He’s fucking crazy. He’s all right now but how long will that last? What’s going to “trigger” him the next time? I think Callis & Co. should be trying to instigate this. It could be Callis who whispers ideas into MJF’s ear of how to “get rid of him for good”. There are ways to make this work and I would hope Mox wouldn’t take the bait at first, forcing Callis and whichever baddies to go further to finally prompt a response.

There’s also the dangling issue of previous Face “enemies”. Does that mean that he and Darby Allin make up? How about Kyle O’Reilly and “Krista’s Dad”, Roderick Strong? Will it all become water under the bridge? It can. Besides, I can see some of the Faces “not buy it”. He’ll have to pass the test of time. We got a good 6 months to play with but come the end of summer, the Callis Family should start to “get to him”. We’ll see how they keep this interesting but why can’t Mox ride a nice wave for a bit. He’s definitely put himself on the line enough but you know me. I appreciate he’s willing to spill his blood, sweat and tears but I’m not sure it should be that serious. That seems better suited for being a volunteer firefighter or EMT or something.

This should be fun. Our performers do endanger themselves for our entertainment and I thank them but I view this as professional rough-housing and I think that’s what it ultimately should be. I don’t want anyone hurt. I know bumps and bruises come with playing rough but I need no one to commit the ultimate sacrifice. That should be reserved for something more admirable but I respect the dedication. In any case, let’s see what they do with all this. The Future Remains Bright. Please proceed.

In the WWE Universe, there’s more and more talk that Chris Jericho is on the return path. I’m not sure what he’s gonna do ‘cause I don’t see him doing much in the ring but perhaps he serves as a counter to Paul Heyman. He can wrangle up some new kids and see if they can play the game and keep it mostly clean, unlike someone we know. He can play dirty too but it’s all about what keeps us interested so, we’ll see. I’m all for it.

And so, that brings us tonight’s RAW. January 5th’s show marks the anniversary of going to Netflix so it’s supposed to be a big deal. But first, they send us into the new year with Rey Mysterio checking out Austin Theory to see where he’s at. The pairing of Dragon Lee and AJ Styles will see if they can retain the Tag Team Championships against the reunited Usos. Stephanie Vaquer finds herself in Triple Threat action against Nikki Bella and Raquel Rodriguez. And Heyman’s Vision will tell us what the tone for 2026 will be.

This should be the last early RAW for me. Like I said last week, it should have been last week but that’s not my fault and it still isn’t. Since it’s not in my hands, what are you gonna do but next week we should be back to full West Coast time. I’m looking forward to it. It will be a new chapter, certainly. In the meantime, we’ll get started at 6:30pm PST. You know where to find me.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
