Someone's Acting Up...Must Be Time for a SmackDown...

So, RAW had an okay showing starting off with a brawl between Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar but unfortunately, that was the biggest moment of the night.  The Main Event of The Hardy Boyz vs. Cesaro & Sheamus was all right but with little lead up, again, we’re just watching a pair of guys throw-down.  *Shrug* if that’s what they want to do.  Sure, the titles are on the line but with Matt Hardy having taken a little paternity leave, we're a little slow to catch back up to the rivalry.  I wouldn’t say this is indicative of a more negative trend but rather proof of a long-standing caveat of the genre.  There are going to be so-so matches and gimmicks that go nowhere.  It’s just the nature of the beast and this night was one of those throwaways.  I will say that Rhyno sold his cracker bit with aplomb so, my hat is off to him.  The roster needs to have more fun like that.  This is scripted entertainment, yes?  So, go and liven it up.  Have fun coming up with and working the promos.  Why are we watching for goodness sake?  To be honest, UFC is a little much for my blood.  I like knowing that the bumps are bumps and not true attempts to render another human being unconscious.  As The Wrestling Folk say, this sort of entertainment is about the story-lines and not so much 2 guys thrashing about.  Why are they thrashing about?  I don’t care if it’s because someone got the last potato chip, at least I know why the other dude/dudette is pissed.  Just my 2¢.

Moving along, tonight we’ll see if SmackDown maintains a more coherent thread.  Money in the Bank is the next Blue Brand PPV on the docket and this is the Go-Home show.  So, we have plenty of speculation circulating with 2 MITB contracts to consider as the Men and Women have sole opportunities.  Personally, I like the current trend of experimentation and so, I’m hoping someone like Sami Zayn gets the contract for the Men and Tamina gets it for the Women.  I like Zayn’s energy and think he should be given more of a chance to develop a sense of grit.  He’s getting played like the “Nice Guy” on the roster and he should Mick Foley it up if that’s the kinda role he’s gonna play.  As for Tamina, she’s been in it for a minute and is clearly one of the more formidable ladies.  Let her squash a bitch and then sit on her after…or should we save that for Nia Jax 😉  No disrespect to the ladies but they know they’re big gals.  Use it.  Who knows, it might set up a “family feud” in the future.  Always got to have a story to tell, right?  Funny tweets get retweeted and Favorites we’ll pray for.  Maybe one day, the Gods will be kind.
