SmackDown Likes It Well-Done...If You Get My Drift...

RAW did well to get us raring to go for the week, I have to say.  Just to start, I was compelled to send “Get Well” wishes out to Jason Jordan today because it sounds like he’ll have to sit out the year to avoid surgery on a neck injury.  Sucks.   Hang in there, dude!

In any case, the RAW Roster is more concerned with the Elimination Chamber presently so, SmackDown has to work up its own steam tonight.  It looks like it’s managing to do that with the Main Event set for the inevitable “friendship” break-up between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens as they battle for a chance to box AJ Styles for the WWE Title at their PPV, FastLane.  Personally, I’m leaning on Owens just because I think it would make for a more interesting match.  God Bless him but there’s something about Zayn, it’s like he’s trying too hard.  He’s got the talent and I don’t mind the rapport with Owens but I’m not exactly hoping to see him or miss him when he’s gone.  I would love to see him get some pops but I don’t know…he may want it too much.  We’ll see how he develops.  I’m rooting for him but in this business, like with anything, you gotta earn it.

Also on the docket, we have Bobby Roode trying to maintain his street cred by facing Rusev in a bout for the US Title.  I’m thinking Roode keeps it just cause it’s a little early to start a lead-up to FastLane but who knows, they may make it interesting and give something for the ‘Mericans to chomp on the bit about as some “fer-renner” goes around with the US Title!   They've certainly done it before.  They're in Missouri though so, that may go down better in a Blue State but you never know.  Rusev Day is landing and it’s been a while since he’s been title relevant.  They could surprise us.

Besides that, Charlotte will have words with Liv Morgan since she thinks she can go around disrespecting Legacies.  And Daniel Bryan will recite the declared “SmackDown Top 10”.  We’ll sit tight and see if they’re not completely obvious.  How many they got on that roster anyway ? 😉 Funny tweets get retweeted and as for Likes/Favorites, there’s potential.  Definitely potential.
