SmackDown Stays Shaken! Never Settles Down!...
A Good Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts!
The Shake-Up is in full effect and so far,
I’m not unimpressed. I don’t know much
of this Drew McIntyre but he at least looks intriguing for a Scottish specimen anyway. I was kind of expecting to see Charlotte since
she has certainly demonstrated that she can dominate if she so pleases but I am
glad Natalya is getting some due. She
can wrestle but I don’t know how to gain her fan appeal. Hopefully, just displaying her talents will
get her respect but, it’s hard to say.
I’ll be the first to say this whole thing boils down to a popularity
contest and her fans tend to be niche.
The alliance with Ronda Rousey may help but we’ll see. Friendships are made to be broken in the
WWE.
Speaking of Ronda Rousey, I have to say
that my suggestion of starting her off with Sonya Deville took splendidly as
they both flipped the script and “fought”.
Well, it was exaggerated sparring but an interesting change-up
nevertheless. Does that mean we might get the
occasional “real fight” on the WWE from time to time. If they fight, it’ll be like the one we saw
last night. An “impromptu” showdown to
sell a conflict or gain or lose favor for a wrestler. Yet, the display immediately
demonstrated the difference between the UFC and WWE. Even though the ladies
were just playing, it’s definitely a different sort of skill. The potential is certainly there but will it
be well-utilized? That is always the
question.
For tonight, the shaking continues. I’m still crossing my fingers on a Roman
Reigns switch-up. If only for the sheer
point of throwing the fans off. I think
it’s pretty clear that this guy needs a bit of a “do-over” and it’s not
entirely his fault. If the WWE want him
a front-runner, they have to serve him in way that we’ll swallow. That means, we have to think he’s genuine out there.
We have to see a guy “going for gold” or “being the best he can be”. All we see is what corporate tells him to
do. Isn’t that true of everything we’re
looking at, you say? We see what the WWE
wants us to see? Yes, but in Reigns’
case it’s painfully true. He’s been “manufactured”. How does Reigns prove he’s “cut ties” and is no puppet. Will he ever show us he's his own man with his own goals? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ That’s for them to figure out. Funny
tweets get retweeted and as for Likes/Favorites, I got a few last night, let’s
see if SmackDown keeps it going.
See You in a Bit,
