So, SmackDown Drops Us Off at Summer Slam...
A Good Friday to You, Enthusiasts!
Here we are at the Go Home Show for Summer Slam and we have a new Thunderdome experience to look forward to. So far, the reports appear more favorable than not so it may not be a total loss. We’ll have to see if they make good use of it. It’s quite clear there’s some “housecleaning” going on for WWE. It may not be until next year that we can get a clear idea of how things are going. Be patient. These are indeed uncertain times.
In other WWE News, well we’ve all heard about Sonya DeVille and the home invader. Ghastly, but there are rumors going ‘round saying that DeVille’s guest was Mandy Rose. I hope this isn’t true, only because it makes the whole thing come off like a work and I wouldn’t want to trivialize an actually grave situation. News outlets are sticking to “a guest” but wrestling sites are spreading around it was Rose. If it was, I hope they never confirm.
Now, back to Summer Slam, it’s hard to say what to expect. All these changes and experiments in play, the Hit or Miss Nature of the WWE Universe shows itself yet again. That is why I suggest patience. I know, it’s been years but there’s a good chance that the greater changes have exposed their bigger problems forcing them to actually solve them. There’s a chance this time around. I think they’re really trying to get it right as opposed to just sell tickets. Ultimately, if you get it right, you won’t have to worry about selling tickets. Let’s hope they get on the right track. Nevertheless, just on percentages you have to expect some of it to fail. I’ll get into my matches of interest on the Summer Slam post.
So, that leaves tonight’s SmackDown. The action is set to include a bout for the Tag Team Titles. The Lucha House Party tries to start off the Summer Slam weekend with an upset over Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura. Big E. and Sheamus are going to have a Gold Level Hoss Fight. Braun Strowman has something to say. And Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles are going to see who deserves the Intercontinental Title. So far the complaints aren’t too loud so, I guess it can’t be too bad. Funny tweets get retweeted and as for Likes/Favorites well, it is Go Home and it is Summer Slam so there’s no need to be too nice but do understand the conditions. These are challenging times.
See
You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
