SmackDown Brings It Home. You Know, Because Hell in a Cell Awaits...

A Good Friday to You, Enthusiasts!

How are you doing? Well, I continue to not complain…I’m actually acclimating to quarantine life. Miss doing stuff, though. I’ll admit that.  I like county fairs. Anyway, back to the WWE Universe.

In all honesty, a lot of the talk will be about AEW.  Let’s not lie and say the 2 aren’t affiliated. As much as Chris Jericho and all others who feel disillusioned with WWE continue to talk their shit, they all can’t deny they’d probably come back under the right offer.  In Jericho’s case, he’d have to have creative control. Yet, news wise, a few things popped up.  First let’s get to the not so flattering stuff.  AEW showed themselves to be a little sloppy this week. An Alex Reynolds got knocked out during an 8-Man-Tag and the ref failed to notice.  Tsk-tsk-tsk. They should be more careful about stuff like that.  I’m not sure where one goes to acquire a pro-wrestling referee but they may want to either better train theirs or look for better ones.  That’s just unprofessional.

The other bit of buzz is Chris Jericho’s and Maxwell Jacob Friedman’s Steak Dinner duet.  It was cute. Looks like MJF can sing so as I stated on the Twitters, he’s got an option for his life after wrestling.  He could become a cool lounge act in Las Vegas. He should keep it old school and set up in Old Vegas instead of The Strip. Some people thought the number unnecessary since it has nothing to do with wrestling but that’s the beauty of this wrestling world.  You got to keep it interesting and somehow attract new fans.  That means thinking outside of the box from time to time.  Doubtful such a number would be appreciated in the WWE Universe at present but who knows…perhaps in the future if someone comes up with a good enough idea.

The final bit of news that caught my eye is talk of who bore the brainchild of RAW Underground. EC3 is taking credit this time around.  A bit of a ramble about how it was taken and bastardized is posted on Cageside Seats.  I guess for now, it doesn’t matter. EC3’s argument isn’t the strongest so I hope it’s all kayfabe.  Given what he’s doing on Impact at the moment, I kinda question his take on how to portray pro-wrestling.  I know there are many fans who want to believe it.  They want it to be “real”, in a way so they prefer a serious tone. Personally, I don’t think it makes sense nowadays.  People more aware as they are, a performer simply gives themselves more work to do if they really want to sell the faux reality.  In most cases, the promotion simply isn’t creatively strong enough to portray a believable scenario.  The attempt at seriousness itself could be easily ridiculed. Yet, if a person wants to take on the challenge, by all means have at. Just know what you’re up against.

In any case, let’s get to tonight’s action. SmackDown will be on FS1 tonight due to a conflict with the World Series. The Go Home Show boasts, Bayley and Sasha Banks confirming their title match with a contract signing.  And Roman Reigns will lay out the stipulations for his Hell in a Cell match against Jey Uso. Outside of that, we’ll just have to wait. Funny tweets get retweeted and as for Likes/Favorites, geese it’s hard to say.  This week’s RAW didn’t get the best response but they have definitely put on worse shows. We’ll see if SmackDown manages to keep everyone’s interest, if a person has the means to view it that is. Nevertheless, I had fun talking my shit on Monday. I suggest you do the same. You’ll be rewarded accordingly.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
