We Got Some Time Before the Royal Rumble So, RAW Will Host Legends Night!
A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts.
I hope it finds you well. So,
there are some rumblings in the world of wrestling. Let’s go over them, shall
we?
The most interesting bit of
news going around is that New Japan is looking to secure a new US and UK television
deal. I’m not sure how much traction it will get but it’s interesting. I say
this because the Japanese style is a lot different from what we’re used to in the
West. Not sure the western palette will warm to it but it’s good to see what’s
going on in the world so, hopefully it attracts the worldlier wrestling
enthusiast. That’s why I would check in from time to time when it was on AXS
TV. Yet, it is a different approach, similar to the difference with Lucha
Libre. The backbone is wrestling but it’s just presented another way. They like
to keep the action more believable so you won’t see as much flashiness. It’s more
textbook wrestling. Check it out and see if you like it if you haven’t already.
It’s not my bag but I respect its practitioners.
The other tidbit floating
around is that Eva Marie is training for a comeback. Hmm, not sure how to
really react because she wasn’t that great of a wrestler to begin with. She was
hot, got to give her that but that was about it. So, all I can really see her
doing is serving as some counter to Lana as the original hot chick just hanging
around. Lana has been adding some skills to her repertoire, though. Maybe they’ll
be able to have a half decent bout every now and then. Get a feeling Eva Marie
will probably participate in the Royal Rumble. We’ll see how she does.
Moving on to RAW, we have “Legends Night” to look
forward to. This will be interesting going forward because we are coming to a
time when the audience may not recognize many of these former superstars. The
Attitude Era options are predominantly in their 50s or approaching it and after
that, there’s really no big splash outside of John Cena and CM Punk, maybe AJ
Lee. WWE is running out of its own road and this has been a long time coming.
Times as they are, the real problems tend to get shaken out. WWE will have to
soon face their major flaws once and for all. Expect 2021 to be an unexpected
starting point. Yes, I’ve said the revolution is on the horizon many times
before in this blog but now, it may actually come to be due to circumstance.
That’s really what it usually takes. If WWE could maintain with the same ole,
same ole, they would gladly continue. It has become all too clear that they
simply can’t make it work anymore. And the kicker is that they should have
known this day would come. So, if the content is suddenly more palatable, now
you have a conjecture as to why. It’s the only way they can stay alive.
Necessity proves again to be the Mother of Invention. Let us see what comes to
light. Funny tweets get retweeted and as for Likes, I got a hunch we should get
some good fodder today so go ahead and take a whack at it. We’ve got a few
weeks until the Rumble so we might as well settle in and get comfortable. Have
fun out there.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
