SmackDown Closes Backlash

 How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

I’ve definitely been better but I can’t complain. So, what’s going on in the Wrestling World? Well, it that much but there’s some speculation going around. Let’s get into it, shall we?

Well, it looks like the inevitable is in the works. MJF appears to prepping for his jump to WWE and that seems the next logical step. I have no problem with this. The issue appears to stem from the fact that MJF’s contract isn’t up until 2024 so...talk is a little early. It’s fine to kick around but we’re not there yet. Nevertheless, this may be the time both sides start to flesh out how to cleanly make this transition. 

In my mind, the first feud is naturally with The Miz. The similarities are obvious and should be addressed right from the start. Maryse should be the real defining difference. MJF, as of now, has no female counter. If that remains the case by the time of the acquisition, that’s the main thing The Miz has over on him. At least Miz has the hot wife and what does MJF have? A cat? The jokes start to write themselves. They should have a lot of fun with it and a have punk ass match that properly initiates MJF in. After that, we’lll see how the WWE Universe responds. I would think Cody Rhodes may follow since he’s the only one who’s had a firsthand look. I’m down for all that.

As for the WWE Universe, talk revolves around the Clash at the Castle poster which is pretty cool. It’s more inspired than a lot of their advertising so this slow-burn revolution appears to be in effect. It’s not dramatic, it’s necessary. If WWE wants to maintain profits, the product has to be worth buying. They really have no choice. They played themselves out, now they have to rethink how to ensure relevancy. Be glad something motivates them. They don’t want to crash and burn after all.  We’ll see if they spare themselves.

So, that brings us to tonight’s SmackDown. Well, they’ll finalize the Backlash Fallout and focus on some Tag Team action. Riddle & Randy Orton are going to continue to poke The USO’s. And Natalya and Shayna Baszler will try to strip Naomi and Sasha banks of their Tag Team Titles. Everything else, we have to wait and see. Funny tweets and Likes get retweeted. Don’t try too hard out there. A lot of people are preoccupied. Share it if it’s inspired.
