SmackDown Follows RAW's Lead for Hell in a Cell...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!

How’s everyone doing? There are a few things floating around the wrestling world so, let’s dive right into ‘em. This shouldn’t take too long.

The biggest bit of news is the change of venue for this year’s Money in the Bank PPV. WWE apparently tried to hype it up along with UFC week in Vegas but people aren’t exactly clamoring to buy tickets so they moved it to a smaller venue. I suggested a while ago that WWE should book smaller venues in general until they sort themselves out. Looks like reality is pushing them to the same conclusion anyway.

All I was getting at is that it’s clear that WWE must figure out its Vision. Spectators aren’t impressed with their general fare. AEW is more exciting just because it isn’t WWE. WWE has to accept these facts and work with them. Developing a Vision won’t happen overnight but if they hedge their bets in the meantime, they can easily save face while they sort it all out. As I keep saying, the talent isn’t the problem. It’s been what to do with them for some time. Looks like WWE has all the incentive they need to get on it.

What I’m a little surprised about is that a lot of the top billed talent has been pulled from MITB as well. Now, I hope this isn’t what it looks like because MITB is one of the more popular PPVs. True, Summer Slam is the summer’s primary PPV but MITB can hold implications for the rest of the year. To have the likes of Roman Reigns, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch removed gives us less reason to care.

Granted, Charlotte requested her time off and Reigns and Lynch could be perceived to have ulterior motives but it prompts questions. These questions may be long standing but I can only hope that there’s method to the madness. I would hope there to be because with WWE just winging it, what’s the point of a revolution?

Regardless, we can always bank on WWE’s need to make a profit. Without watchable content, that won’t happen so we might as well sit back and see what they stitch together. At least they got talent.

Anyway, tonight seems a little questionable but true to form. Ronda Rousey is set to face Raquel Rodriguez again to show her it wasn’t a fluke the first time. Reigns and The Usos will strut around with all the gold and The New Day will take on a “mystery partner” to take on Sheamus and Company in the form of Ridge Holland and Butch/Pete Dunne. I also heard that we can expect Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes to make appearances but we’ll see what goes down. Funny tweets and Likes get retweeted. Don’t work too hard out there. See what they do with themselves.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
