The King Takes the Helm as RAW Preps for Summer Slam...

Happy Monday, Enthusiasts.

So, the changes keep rolling in about the WWE Universe and the general consensus is that it’s all for the better. Let’s break it all down, shall we?

News broke today that Triple H will now head WWE Creative and there appears to be a collective sigh of relief. Sounds like my thinking aligns more or less with Management. I’ve been saying H taking over should calm most detractors. Many commenters caution any celebration as though Mr. Vince McMahon may no longer officially run things, he still has the final say as majority shareholder. Triple H’s ideas can still be vetoed and we could be right where we’ve always been.

Well, if I were majority shareholder and just retired, I would see what H does with it first before striking everything down. If H does a better job, then H does a better job. I could relax in retirement in peace. Many feel Mr. McMahon won’t be able to leave well-enough alone but I don’t know about all that. Granted, the news coming out about Mr. McMahon doesn’t paint the best picture, yet I’m far from blaming the man for all the ills of this world. The way people talk you’d swear they blame him for global warming.

I think he’s a shrewd businessman first and foremost. WWE is a Heel Company so that the heel behavior can be viewed as warranted. It’s the tactic of hiding in plain sight. I think Mr. McMahon created the image of the “big bad boss” and we ate it up. Ate so much we believed it and now we’re left to think/believe whatever we want. Accept we will never know the truth. Realize that we will be left to come to our own conclusions always because it’s better to have us talking about it than have the full story and get bored. I respect the approach. This is ultimately how any Heel in the company should more or less roll. You should be savvy enough to play the angles so you can be bad and get away with it too.

I will never have a problem with this. I can appreciate good game play, especially if it’s in the lines. This is entertainment at the end of the day. We don’t really want it sullied by the peccadillos of a chairman. Nevertheless, given the tone of the content, is the news of a chairman’s peccadillos really so surprising? I get that this stuff can’t get too real and given this day and age, peccadillos can’t go unnoticed but the way it’s all set up the “house” does always win. That’s what you learn in this world. If you’re the house, set yourself up to win. Can’t hate the man for doing that in such entertaining fashion. That’s a Heel indeed 😉

Now, these changes won’t be without some fallout. Seeing how Mr. McMahon performed the preemptive strike and removed himself, someone has to actually get punished so that it looks like WWE is taking these matters of proper conduct seriously. Word that’s going around is that Kevin Dunn is slated for dismissal amidst all this bad press. I don’t know much about the guy, but I can say I haven’t heard too much good things but it’s akin to the review of Mr. McMahon. It seems people seem fine with blaming him for all the wrongs in this world. Might as well make the “scapegoat” title official. We’ll see if the status change sticks or if we’ll see him back on the payroll in a few years.

In any case, that brings us to tonight’s RAW. I don’t think it’s all that surprising that all this news drops right before Summer Slam. Now it’s on WWE to make sure these are in fact improvements. For tonight’s Go Home Show, we have Roman Reigns showing up wherever the eff he wants ‘cause that’s what you do when you’re Head of the Table. He’s supposed to assist The Usos with some 6-Man-Tag action against The Street Profits with Riddle in tow. We’ll see if Seth Rollins pays him a visit. We’ll be generally celebrating 20 years of Rey Mysterio. He’s been doing this for a solid minute. That’s why he’s a living legend. And somewhere tonight, we should see Logan Paul get some airtime. We’ll see how that goes over. Funny tweets and Likes get retweeted. Let’s see if the new era begins today.

See You in a Bit,
