SmackDown Tosses Caution to the Wind and Tosses Gas on the Fire for WrestleMania...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!

How’s everyone doing? Can’t say I have too many troubles. No more than most. So, there are a few things we can discuss today. Nothing earth shattering but enough to fill up a few minutes of reading time. Let’s get in to it, shall we?

Let’s start out in the Indy Wildlands as House Rhodes introduces some new faces. The nephews to Cody and Dustin “Goldust” Rhodes, Wayne and Wyatt had their first professional match representing Dustin’s wrestling school the Rhodes Wrestling Academy. They’re not the biggest kids so, I’m not sure what the future holds but if they’re fine performers and have that Rhodes Heart they should do all right. Welcome to the show, kids.

Now, the wrestling world just wouldn’t be what it is without shit talk so let’s review what got spilled this week. First off, Ronda Rousey was doing the best version of herself as she gave her take of the “shit show” that is WWE. Needless to say, it wasn’t a glowing report but what was even clearer is that this sort of diatribe is par for the course when it comes to Rousey. She’s known for picking up her toys and leaving the playground in a huff and this time around appears to be no different. I don’t doubt that WWE had and still has plenty to be desired about its operation but there’s a good chance Rousey didn’t help much and given how her stint went, she never fully understood the assignment. She had some good showings here and there but I doubt she fully understands the concept of kayfabe. She won’t be missed with that attitude. Anyway…

Also with some shit to say, Goldberg voiced some irritation at Asuka breaking one of his records. He can’t believe some Japanese chick is the one to do it. Must feel his “legacy”’ has been trivialized or disrespected. Asuka is a fine performer in the ring and most would say she’s a better worker than he ever was with far less injuries to her name so, not really seeing what the problem is here. Many commenters appear to agree. Imagine that.

In more uplifting news, the WWE Universe can collectively wish Maryse a hearty “Get Well Soon!” as she is now recovering from a complete hysterectomy. Poor thing was riddled with cancerous tumors in her reproductive organs. If it hadn’t been caught at such an early stage, she would have surely succumbed to the condition. Thankfully, we don’t have to witness that outcome. I’m glad she’s on the mend and wish her a full and speedy recovery.

So that, for the most part, brings us to tonight’s SmackDown. The highlight of which is slated to be the literal showdown between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. There’s supposed to be “no Bloodline interference” so we’ll see if that remains true. Reigns already greased these wheels with a interview with Pat McAfee in Iowa earlier today. He had to jet over to Wisconsin to make it for this appearance. We can also expect to see Naomi serve up some receipts to Iyo Sky for the beatdown she took courtesy of the revamped Damage CTRL. Rey Mysterio will return to action tonight as well to resume his simmering feud with Santos Escobar. The Street Profits will continue to cook up some beef with AOP and those no good, whippersnappers in Austin Theory and Grayson Waller will face off with The OC for chances to be in the Ladder Match set for WrestleMania. Looks like we can look forward to a good time. Unofficial watch party starts at 8pm PDT. Pick your platform and play along.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
