RAW Deals with a Mixed Bag Ahead of Bad Blood...
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
A decent Monday,
for you? I don’t know about you, but it was kinda strange for me, a lot of
irregular happenings. People usually present, absent. Routes usually clear,
backed up with traffic. Shops usually open, suddenly closed. And some of the
opposite happened as well. Someone never there, shows up. Detouring from one
franchise to another leads to a better experience. There are astrological
explanations but I’m keeping it simpler. It was a bit of an odd day.
In any case, we’ve
got some stuff we can talk about going on in the Wrestling World. Still up for
the chat, even if it’s a weird one? Let’s get into it.
Well, let’s get
the less savory chatter out of the way. In response to the new Netflix documentary
out on Vince McMahon, it appears Mr. McMahon has issued a statement generally
asking for some consideration. Given his disgraced status, it’s no surprise
most onlookers and commenters aren’t willing to hear it but I can’t help but
feel there is a point being made.
Whether one wants
to hear it or not is one’s business and I won’t deny that some truly indefensible
acts occurred, I also have to agree that sometimes, the kayfabe gets out of
hand. Now, I won’t divulge how I know what I know but I do know that a lot of
what wrestling fans believe is absolutely not true. It’s total kayfabe
and people believe it so much, that if I were to name these fakeries, people
would shout me down as crazy or out of it and looking for clicks. So, I don’t
bother but I do know there’s a lot we as the fans and general public
know that is just that. What we think we know and that’s that. It’s not
worth upsetting the apple cart. So, it’s the “truth” now.
We will never know
what transpired. And we know that Mr. McMahon is far from innocent but I’m sure
there is a gray area that should be given some consideration. It took me a
little while to realize that all the hate that gets slung at Mr. McMahon mostly
comes from the persona he portrayed. Let’s just say he did “too good” of a job
and now must face the subsequent reality and the blowback from past indiscretions.
There’s no easy fix. It’s the sort of thing people have to come to realize for
themselves and given how this shook out, people won’t readily try. He’s better
off just keeping his head down and living a just and courteous life.
I wouldn’t go the
opposite way and start throwing money into charity but if I were him, I would remain
charitable and perhaps anonymous. He’s in a place where some wouldn’t want his
money so it may be best to play “Fairy Godfather” and be the miracle that saves
the day from time to time. And the gestures should probably be large and small.
He has to reclaim his humanity and the only thing that does that is honesty and
consistency. He’ll have to show and not tell that he’s a changed man. Let us
all hope for a fair conclusion for these disconcerting matters.
In far lighter
news, Pretty Deadly had plenty to celebrate this weekend as Elton Prince
welcomed his first child and Kit Wilson married his lady love
as well. I guess Wilson will be forgiving if Prince wasn’t able to attend 😉 Congratulations to them both. Looks like
these “boys” will have to become “men” soon. All for it.
In Bloodline news,
it looks like another cousin is coming through as word is that Zilla Fatu peaced
out of Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) to presumably get welcomed into the
Bloodline line soon. He’s already pushing appearances and merch on social
media. So much for a surprise but I guess that’s fair enough. I’ve only heard
of him recently so I guess no harm no foul. We shall see what he brings to the table.
We’ll close with
some WWE administrative news as HULU announced that its rights to restream WWE
content expire on Wednesday (9/25/2024) and so, if you prefer to catch up next
day or later in the week, you’ll have to rely on your live TV streaming service
or the USA app to catch it on demand as this Netflix deal settles up. I think stuff
eventually posts to Peacock but I don’t know their timelines.
I get the feeling
most of us will live but I can see if HULU is your only go to, you could be
scrambling a bit. There are a lot of options. You can figure it out.
And so, that brings
us to tonight’s RAW. Not much is advertised but I can see that there’s
some stuff going on. Sami Zayn will try to get Ludwig Kaiser out of his way.
Drew McIntyre will give us more reasons why Punk should be mangled and retired
in his Hell in a Cell match with him. And Jey Uso will see if he can take the
Intercontinental Championship off of Bron Breakker. As long as he has a plan,
there’s hope.
Unofficial Watch
Party should start at 8pm PDT. You know the drill. No one’s gonna force you.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis
