SmackDown Places the Final Touches for Survivor Series / War Games....
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
For those who celebrated, did you enjoy Thanksgiving? Have to say that it was all that it should have been for my set, food, family and friends. It was a successful evening if I may say so myself. Given the holiday vibes, this post will be brief but we can kick around a few things. Let’s get to it.
So, we’ll skip the Realm of AEW this week as they appear to be laying the foundation for bigger and better things for the time being and so we’ll leave them to it. As for the WWE Universe, there appears to be a few things going on. It is Go-Home week despite the holiday. Cody Rhodes got some visibility as he was a guest on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon this week. Fallon is a WWE affiliation as he tends to always welcome its stars on the show. Looks like it was Rhodes’ turn this time. He managed to get some digs on Kevin Owens while promoting this weekend’s PPV.
On the grapevine, there’s word that the plan for bringing Drew McIntyre back to the fold is in the works. Given how he’s on the losing train, I would suggest that he comes back as a terror to the roster. I wouldn’t have him avoid CM Punk but I would have him be a sore loser, for sure. He should be taking it out on everybody. If Punk happens to be around and they cross paths, all hell can break loose but it’s not something McIntyre should be directly pursuing. He should just be in a generally, “worse mood” for the time being.
For whatever it’s worth, McIntyre just works better as a Heel so he should not have learned the lesson and should just be bullying everyone until someone has it with him. It could be anyone really. I can see Orton not having it. Perhaps Bronson Reed could be in no mood either if his business with the Bloodline 2.0 is done. Even Bron Breakker could get cocky and think he could shut him down. All I would make sure of is that McIntyre gets a win this time around.
He took the L like a champ and that should be rewarded. He can’t keep street-cred if he doesn’t show that he can get the W too. There’s no reason why he shouldn’t just to look at him. Whomever mixes it up with him this time around should go down so that taking him out again gets all the sweeter. It’s all in the name of keeping him relevant. He did the work, just couldn’t surpass Punk’s popularity. This time around, that sort of thing shouldn’t matter. Time to remind everyone he’s not to be messed with.
I would have suggested Roman Reigns as a possible adversary but I get the feeling it’s best to have Reigns too caught up with Bloodline business. As much as he could get into it with McIntyre, I’m thinking he’s just “too distracted” to make a viable run of it. I wouldn’t even mind if that’s alluded to in a backstage confrontation. Doesn’t even make it to the ring. Reigns just sublimates and takes whatever out on McIntyre. Just too much on his mind. It serves as a way of advancing the story, so to speak. Guess we’ll see what they’ll do.
And so, that brings us to tonight’s SmackDown. They have to nail down the final bits to solidify the card for Survivor Series / War Games. We can expect to see the Ladies in action as they have a Triple Threat match to advance the Tournament for the Women’s US Championship. We’ll see Lash Legend, Piper Niven and Mia Yim throwdown for their chance. We’ll get a preview of the future as Jey Uso tries to gain some leverage for the OG Bloodline against Jacob Fatu. Carmelo Hayes will warm Cody Rhodes up for tomorrow with a match tonight. And Roman Reigns will have a conversation with CM Punk. Not sure how polite this will be but if I’m Reigns, I get to the point and keep things succinct. Punk is the talker here so just get the facts, if Reigns is smart 😉
Regardless, the unofficial watch party will start at 8pm PST. Feel free to join if want something to watch while you get at some leftovers. I’ll have second Thanksgiving tomorrow, save it for Survivor Series.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
