RAW Leaves Us Something to Keep Us Occupied Before War Games / Survivor Series...
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
A Merry Monday to you! Is it treating you well? I’ve definitely had worse, I’ll just say that. As has been the case of late, there hasn’t been the most thrilling news circulating in the Wrestling World but enough went on that we have something to have a short chat about. What do you say? Can you spare a little time? This should be quick.
Well, as you noticed, I was one of many drawn in by the spectacle that was Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson. I took a look, as much as the Netflix app would allow and disappointing doesn’t even touch on what went down. The general consensus was if Tyson didn’t knock out Paul in the 1st round that would be it and it was. There was about 30 seconds at the beginning that Paul about crapped his pants but after that, it was just an old man trying to hang with a relatively young one.
The promoters should have known better. I don’t mind these cash grab matches as long as it’s worth watching. Tyson just couldn’t really go. If they’re going to dust off Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao for one of these things ever, they better be able to go. I don’t mind seeing if the old-fogey can do it, but they have to have the capacity to actually perform the feat. What we saw made the whole idea just seem like wishful thinking. What was the point? Guess I should just be glad I didn’t have to pay extra for it.
I will commend the Ladies' bout that preceded it though. Amanda Serrano vs. Katie Taylor was a true knock-down, drag ‘em out fight! I hope that the cut Serrano suffered got sewn up and is on the mend. She was absolutely robbed! Taylor was dirty with that headbutt but I suppose the officials just called it “ruthless”. A win is a win in their book.
On the brightside, it was a great display for women in the sport of boxing. If that’s one’s thing, these ladies gave it some credibility so, it can’t be all bad. They truly went for it and I salute them.
And so that brings us to tonight’s RAW. It was previously recorded in anticipation of the Holidays so these next 2 weeks’ offerings should already be uploaded somewhere so that our players can get in some rest and family time. It’s hard to knock it.
As we remember from last week’s SmackDown, the OG Bloodline is in a pickle. Can’t say if they’ll let it marinate or light some of it up. We’ll see how well they kept to the script if they “move forward”. As for what’s advertised, we can expect an increasingly insubordinate Dominik Mysterio to team up with Carlito to take on the War Raiders on the quest for Tag Team superiority. The New LWO will get everyone involved in a mixed-tag with Alpha Academy. With Seth Rollins’ PTO already applied, Rollins is slated to make his break official courtesy of Bronson Reed and Sheamus will attempt to show that whippersnapper, Bron Breakker, what it looks like to win a Championship as he challenges for the Intercontinental Title.
We can relax a bit for the next couple of weeks. Those of you in the United States can start to prepare yourselves for the Holidays. If you have a family with a lot of strong opinions, this should be one of the more eventful Holidays that we’ve had in a while so, just remember to lead with Good Will and have your de-escalation techniques ready. The Holidays are stressful enough. Avoid the migraine if at all possible.
In the meantime, the unofficial watch party is at 8pm PST. Feel free to hang out if you got nothing better to do.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
