SummerSlam 2025 - Matches of Interest

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Welcome to SummerSlam, Day 1! So, I usually post on both days but this time around, I think I’ll just be honest and post once. I’m only interested in 2 matches and the rest is up to our players to make interesting. Not that they can’t but my curiosity has only piqued for 2 potential hotspots. 

The first is the TLC Tag Team Match. I don’t recall who’s in it and don’t feel like looking it up but given the last displays, this could be the highlight of the weekend. No pressure 😉 Yet, given these players are known for their skill and prowess, I feel the biggest challenge will be getting in their own way. Hopefully, they can relax and just let the magic happen.

Then after that, it’s the Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena Street Fight. Did Cena really Face Turn? Personally, I’m sensing the Rock and potentially even Travis Scott to return. All the reports of a falling out could be disinformation. You know how it is in the WWE Universe. Can’t trust anything. I still kinda think Kevin Owens is just waiting out to see if he can spoil someone’s day. 

This side of town was never good for trust issues. Regardless, I can’t help but see if I’m right. This whole thing took a while to find its groove but now that it’s up and running, I don’t need a reset. Yet, since this is Cena’s retirement tour, I guess I don’t have much say. If he wants to go out on a positive note, I can’t blame him. However, we have also seen that he can get the support while playing bad, the real end game of the assignment. 

The exchange was executed well enough so, it could work out either way but my vote is for stay bad. But if it’s well done, I don’t mind if Cena goes back to being good. Guess we shall see. 

And so, that’s all I’m looking at this weekend. I’ll be cooking up the spreads that I usually do for PPVs so my attention will be divided but I’ll be paying enough. Have done so for this long. 

Enjoy the show, everybody. Don’t choke down subpar shit but at the same time, appreciate it if it does prove entertaining. The unofficial watch party starts at 3pm PDT. I’m looking forward to it.
