Land O'Lakes & Great Balls of Fire!!!...

Image
Greetings, Enthusiasts! So, today we gather for the Great Balls of Fire PPV to see mainly how the Brock Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe match goes down.  This is one of those times where it actually doesn't matter about the set-up because the potential of the match stands alone.  It almost, dare I say, feels real 😉 Well, I'm pretty sure it will be the match of the night but that doesn't mean everything else on the docket is a waste of time. We've got the other bit of tantalizing show in the Ambulance Match between Roman Reigns & Braun Strowman.  Now, what I'm gonna look for here is lag-time.  The thing about these kind of matches is that they're long and dragged out on purpose so, it will be up to these guys to make the whole thing interesting.  This could be a lot of fun or fall completely flat.  Let's hope it's not the RAW's version of House of Horrors. Outside of that, though the Big Cass vs. Enzo Amore match has plenty of sentimentality attache

Someone Left You RAW? That Means a SmackDown...

Happy Independence Day, Enthusiasts! 🙌 So, tonight we look to SmackDown  to see John Cena's return and I don't know, is anyone looking forward to it?  Now, I'm not saying that to be mean but, things have been just fine without him.  Does that mean it is in fact time to pass the torch?  Well, We the Audience know that a showdown between Cena and Roman Reigns is inevitable at some point but seeing how Cena's healthy at 40, if he can still take the hits I say let him.  Yet, I do believe it's becoming more and more blatant that he's being kept around for the kiddies.  We the Audience also know that Roman Reigns is PG-13/TV-14 at best.  This transition will be an interesting one.  In the meantime, with Jinder Mahal dangling the title in Randy Orton's face and Cena supposedly returning with "free agent" status, there are plenty of things that can be done.  Personally, I'm sticking to my "show up anywhere" approach.  Tonight, they'

Or so I've heard 😉 What's up, Enthusiasts! So, tonight we have the Go-Home show for RAW's Great Balls of Fire PPV coming up this Sunday and we're not given much else to go off on.  We know we have a tantalizing match in the form of Samoa Joe vs. Brock Lesnar and looks like another title will be put on the line as well.  We have an ambulance match to look forward to but the word is that Braun Strowman doesn't think it's gonna happen.  Wonder why that is *tee hee* and after all that, it's whatever else they plan to throw together.  I believe the ladies are chasing around Alexa Bliss for the Women's Championship so, she'll either sneak out of the fight or someone else will wrench it from her hands.   Personally, I think the main event in Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar will be the match to watch.  Everyone else needs to just go out there and sell their shit but, Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe will be what's interesting mainly because of the history.  This ha

Will It Be a MITB SmackDown to Remember?...

¯\_(ツ)_/¯  How’s it Hanging, Enthusiasts! Well, RAW managed to toss together a decent show with Samoa Joe putting his veteran status to good use against the “Beast Incarnate”, Brock Lesnar.   The whole program was entertaining enough.  I didn’t “booo” where it wasn’t necessary and don’t feel too bad about this upcoming Great Balls of Fire.  I did find it interesting that word on the street is that Bray Wyatt and Seth Rollins came out and did a lackluster dark match.  I find the placement of it odd.  I can understand down-playing Wyatt with his personal dilemma transpiring in the background yet, though the West Coast may not have the biggest fan backing for the WWE, Los Angeles is a great place to get seen.  It behooves a wrestler to put on a good show for who might be watching, whether televised or not.  I wonder if that’s more due to inside politics or something. In any case, SmackDown takes a jaunt down the 5 down to San Diego's Valley View Center, to be exact.  Me b

RAW You Say? I Prefer Cooked...

S'pose I'll give it a try anyway 😉 What’s up, Enthusiasts! So, looks like RAW is in my hood this time around and it’s all very “hush-hush”.    Alas, I won't be attending, as is obvious with this post, but I will be catching it at its usually scheduled time with all the other West Coasters who have to work.  Well, with Great Balls of Fire coming up, the word is Lesnar could be ariound and the beef between he and Samoa Joe will continue to simmer and after that, whatever the hell else they care to display.   I’m sure the Enzo and Big Cass break-up will be addressed to some degree and who knows about whatever other bells and whistles they’ll put out there.   I get the feeling this will be a “pulled out of the hat” sort of night. Personally, I feel like it’s been awhile since we’ve done this.   The PPV’s are throwing me off.   It feels like months since I’ve seen wrestling.   On another note though, who checked out GLOW on Netflix?   So far, I’m charmed.   What

Is Someone Gonna Put the SmackDown on this MITB...

Image
Someone should 😉 Good Evening, Enthusiasts! Well, was it just me or was RAW more interesting than MITB?  Looks like I’m on the same page with someone.  Well, as we contemplate what was the inevitable dissolution of Enzo & Big Cass we come to the SmackDown rebuttal.  Well, hopefully it will entail some sort of Womens MITB rematch due to the heinous abduction of the prize by male hands.  I’ll keep my grumbling down if they find a way to make this angle engaging.  I get that the WWE tends to instigate its fans, I get that it goes with the territory but again if not properly applied, one tends to lose the audience.  Let’s not have another House of Horrors on our hands, shall we. In the meantime, we await John Cena’s return…that should be interesting given a lot seems to have gone down in his absence.  With him coming up as a “free agent”, that allows him to show up anywhere at anytime which could work.  I wouldn’t say use this to turn Cena heel ‘cause that’s always up for

MITB Made Me Feel RAW...

Greetings, Enthusiasts! So, I hope that WWE Creative has some extensive plans in the works because this year’s Money in the Bank PPV appeared to miss a few marks unless that was the plan in which case, I’ll keep my bitching to a minimum.   I’m sure the most irksome moment was the Women’s MITB Ladder Match that was secured with male interference by Ellsworth in Carmella’s favor.   I can see that this was done to purposely irritate but at the same time, it kind of illegitimatized the whole “Women’s Movement” in the WWE.   The chick who wins the contract only does so by a male cheating in her favor?   Doesn’t say much for the plight of Feminism.   I’m not sure that’s the best way to debut such a potentially momentous event.   We’ll see what they do with it. The MITB PPV was kinda punk-ass all around so I’m hoping that was the point to drum up some drama but I’m not sure how cleanly that will be demonstrated.   I’ve been noticing that the WWE has recently been attempting to b

Who's Got Money in the Bank!

I'm sure the bulk of you are like me and could use plenty more 😉 How's It Going, Enthusiasts! So, it's that time before SummerSlam when the Money in the Bank contract gets handed out and for this year of firsts, a Womens MITB contract will be offered as well.  As I expressed earlier and through Twitter, I like the mix-up that's currently going on with the WWE like having Jinder Mahal wearing the WWE Title and Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar set to go at it for Great Balls of Fire.  I'm hoping they keep going in that direction by giving Sami Zayn the contract and perhaps giving it to Tamina or Natalya on the Women's side.  These are personalities who have done their time, to reasonable degree, and I think a more diverse message should be displayed.  Ultimately, anyone on the roster should be able to hold a title, even Zack Ryder.  Any 2 "superstars" should be able to go out there and perform a title worthy match.  That is a mark of excellence I think t
