SmackDown Knows Where the Next Stop Is... You Coming?
A Good Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts!
How did you like last night’s RAW?
I don’t know if it’s a good thing, but it was more fun than Summer Slam
to be honest. Again, not sure if that’s
what they were going for but I hope someone is taking note. Sasha Banks returned on a Heel-Turn. Could the blue hair indicate a brand switch
as well? And they’re starting to get a
feel for how to showcase the 24/7 Title.
Good for them! The only bit that
didn’t really work for me was the main event.
AJ Styles and Seth Rollins got into it fair enough but when The OC jumped in to DQ the match, Ricochet came riding in to the rescue. I guess that was to dovetail off the feud he
had with Styles but it confused the hell out of the crowd. I didn’t see it coming either but I was able
to piece a hypothesis together. Yet,
that’s not the end of it. To provide
further support, M.I.A. Braun Strowman returned to assist in the walloping on
the Heels. What’s funny to me about this
is that the crowd has no problem with this truly random addition. I don’t know, guys. That doesn’t look good on us. We can’t go complaining about “no-decisions”
if we’ll cheer if you just trot out the right person. I’m glad Strowman’s back but I hope this
doesn’t prompt the WWE to go back to just slapping things together. They’re actually making an effort,
people. Demonstrate you have the
wherewithal to follow.
That being said, for tonight’s SmackDown it shouldn’t be too hard. Since Roman Reigns was apparently only used
to promote Summer Slam, we finally get a match with him accepting Buddy Murphy’s
Twitter challenge. Bayley may contemplate who she’ll face next for the battle
for the Women’s Title. Kevin Owens will
probably segue us into the King of the Ring Tournament set to start next
week. And of course, we must address the
ending that wasn’t when it comes to Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton. This will be very interesting because due to
the intense, negative response they received on Sunday, there will be some
incentive to sell this. It’s already
clear the angle may be a bit too contrived and I’m not sure how they’re going
to save this stew. May take more than
some lemon juice. We’ll see how they
even things out. Funny tweets get
retweeted and as for Likes/Favorites, we can be more lenient now because
there is some time until Clash of Champions and we’ll have some additional
fodder in terms of King of the Ring. We don’t have to be too persnickety but we
should uphold some sort of standard.
Strangely, it’s now kinda on us to prove we have the stomach for better
executed/planned material. Let’s show we
can have a beer and pay attention as well
See You in a Bit,
