RAW Contemplates the Extremities of the Rules...

How Goes It Enthusiasts?

Trying to enjoy Summer?  I know, it’s a bit different this time around but that doesn’t mean fun can’t be had.  Just have to be more creative about it is all.   In any case, well word of how COVID is spreading in the WWE Universe is getting around.  Looks like Lana and Rusev are the next ones to become effected.  Sounds like Lana’s parents have caught it and Rusev apparently tested positive.  For those out there believing this is some conspiracy best take note.  This is a super-cold we’re dealing with.  That means it’s easy to catch.  This disease making the rounds should be no surprise.  Its basis is one of the most communicable strains in existence.  That’s why precautions are so necessary.  Who can say they haven’t caught a cold?   I haven’t caught a bad one for a few years.  I hope that last one gave me some antibodies to combat it with.  And don’t forget that the COVID isn’t the only thing that can get you.   Keep yourselves healthy any way you can for the time being.

In other WWE news, rumor has it that Matt Hardy doesn’t really care for the insensitive nature of Jeff’s current program angle, given how it poorly addresses his alcohol abuse problems.  Well, we all know that the WWE Universe is not known for its tact.  There was a way to approach this and still make it fun for TV but it should be no surprise it was bungled.  The Hardys should at least take some solace that Creative got all shook up soon after.   Creative has been getting it wrong for a while and this segment was just stunning proof.  Not to mention, Jeff Hardy simply doesn’t have the acting chops to make it the farcical PSA they were going for.   In these sorts of cases, they should just keep it simple which is what they kinda did last Friday.  They walked it back so that Hardy can at least work with the material but it’s still all pretty dumb and tasteless.  Sheamus is doing his best with it though and unfortunately, that’s the sort of thing you have to do to get street-cred around here sometimes.  You got to make that meat that’s about to turn into some sort of palatable stew.  Sheamus has been turning out “Friday Specials” with what he’s had to work with and we’ve just been able to get it down.  Let’s just suffer through the last of it and hopefully they’ll start fresh after Extreme Rules.

So, that brings us tonight’s RAW.  It’s the Go Home Show and we’ll see if they can get us excited for it.  Sasha Banks and Bayley continue to stay fight ready as they come through to work another TV taping.  They are set to face off against the Kabuki Warriors in Kairi Sane’s final run.  Randy Orton will do a solid for R-Truth and have a dance.  Not to discredit R-Truth but we don’t really try to see this guy in action but I do appreciate how he’s been showing up to work for decades now.   I’m sure as he gets older they can probably transition him into some sort of backstage enforcer.  We’re not there yet but if they start to develop the WWE’s true potential as they ought, there could be some fun for him to be had for some years to come.  We’ll see if they ever expand as they should.   Regardless, Kevin Owens will come out at some point to say “you’re welcome…” as he faces off against the still delusional Seth Rollins.  It doesn’t sound too bad.   We have certainly sat through worse so, funny tweets get retweeted and as for Likes/Favorites well, it is Go Home time so this shouldn’t suck too much.  Feel free to let it be known if it does.  If you manage to get a laugh out of me in the process, I’ll make sure the world knows it.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
