RAW Gets Started with Alpha Testing Because Why Wait?...

Happy Monday, Enthusiasts!

I hope Thanksgiving treated you well. For those of you who don’t celebrate the tradition, I hope your weekend was splendid. There are a few rumblings in the world of wrestling but nothing too exciting. I think last week was a little more eventful but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to talk about. Let’s get to it, shall we?

So, not too much of a surprise, AEW took a bit of a hit last Wednesday ratings-wise. Most of us stateside had other plans, myself included. I don’t watch Dynamite regularly so that drop had nothing to do with me but this is generally the case come the Holidays. Now, I would try to hype days like this up more for both AEW and WWE. I felt the pandemic really highlighted the pitfalls of WWE because with all these people sitting at home, they still couldn’t draw people to watch. I think they did the best that they could with what they had but that’s not saying much. They’re only scratching the surface of their own potential. AEW, on the other hand, is still searching for its stride which is also understandable. WWE is ahead of itself for once since it made the decision to have a PPV on Jan. 1st, 2022. This means now until then is an experiment by default. That is a start. We’ll see how AEW counters.

In bittersweet news, John Morrison finally made a statement regarding his release. From the sound of it, seems like he may hang it up altogether. That does seem too bad but he is 42 which is far from dead but no spring chicken. I hope he considers becoming an instructor/trainer in the future. It may be too hard to contemplate right now but hopefully shuffling around at home and the Indie scene changes his mind. He could become a legendary mentor and it gives him incentive to stay fit and sharp. I hope he kicks the idea around. His skills may be more appreciated this way.

There’s a tweet from Nia Jax that’s floating around that professes a similar sentiment but it seems a bit taken out context to me. Regardless, people don’t expect to see her back in a ring any time soon. Well, if she had no desire to improve her in-ring game, then moving on may be the best. With promotions like AEW and MLW gaining popularity, this is not an arena where one should just wing it. One should be aiming to improve to either better oneself in pro-wrestling or to prime oneself for Hollywood. If those aren’t goals, don’t waste your time.

So, that brings us to tonight’s RAW. Edge is due back and he’s been asking for a little crowd participation to get an idea of what he should do next. We’ll see if he was inspired. Kevin Owens and Big E continue to bump shoulders to prove they aren’t chumps. And Finn Bálor tries to get Seth Rollins to show him a little respect. We’ll see how that goes. Funny tweets and Likes get retweeted. We’ve got over a month, people. Try to stay open as they try stuff out.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
