Summer Slam Is Over - Now for the Fallout...
What’s Up, Enthusiasts?
Well,
Summer Slam I is filed away and it served as a fair segue to the new Triple H.
Era. It wasn’t bad but like I said in the previous post, the real obstacle to
overcome was boredom. Can’t expect the same thing to land the same second time
around. We know H is aware, the question is what does he intend to do about it.
Summer
Slam was better than last year’s, that’s for sure and for the most part it was
a solid show. Logan Paul did way better than anyone expected but still came off
a little awkward afterward so, I still think it’s best for him to start as a deluded
Heel and transition to a Face. Pat McAfee and Baron Corbin underperformed in my
opinion but it’s hard to say why. Maybe they’re too good of friends offscreen? Just
felt they should have let loose a bit more with it.
As
for the main event, same diff but they definitely let Brock Lesnar have fun
with it. I was hoping for a more competitive match but the tractor stunts had
to happen so I get it. I just hope they address how Roman Reigns, though “Undisputed
Champion” is not so fairly. We all know it takes The Usos to keep the title on
him so is he going to be outed as a bullshit Champion or is he going to be
prompted to earn proper accolades? We will have to wait and see. What we should
see is that they choose one of those directions now that Triple H is in charge.
Not doing so could draw criticism no matter how good the H Kool-Aid tastes. We
shall see.
As
for other news, Ric Flair had his Last Match and just from the clips I caught online,
I don’t know how anyone sat through it. It seemed rough but that’s what the man
wanted to do. Hopefully he just opts to sell merch next time. A lot of veterans
turned out as well. Looks like Diamond Dallas Page was in attendance along with
Mick Foley, Bret Hart and The Undertaker so, it seems like diehard fans got
their money’s worth but yeesh. Hope it all was worth it.
Back
in the WWE Universe, the other big news outside of Io Shirai/Iyo Sky and Dakota
Kai debuting alongside a Bayley return is talk that with Triple H now running
things, Sasha Banks and Naomi should be brought back into the fold shortly. That’s
great if it happens. Doubt we’ll ever know what really went down but that was
no note to go out on. I’m glad a compromise could be reached.
So,
that brings us to tonight’s RAW. We should get some insight as to how
the future should shape up with the Summer Slam Fallout. Word is going around
that Becky Lynch separated her shoulder during her Summer Slam match and could need
surgery so, that leaves an opening for the Women’s Division. Bayley appears ready
to fill it along with the NXT callups for back-up. Edge is back so we’ll see
how he inflicts his vengeance and The Miz will review what went wrong against
Logan Paul. Everyone’s curious so let’s see if Triple H comes up with more
logical entertainment. Funny tweets and Likes get retweeted. Let’s see how he
does.
See
You in a Bit,
-Nicole
