SmackDown Helps Us Prep for New Year's....

 How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Hope your Christmas went well if you celebrate. For all others, a Happy New Year to you. I hope you’re enjoying Winter or Summer if you're in the Southern Hemisphere. I’ve been light on the Wrestling World due to all the festivities and family bonding. Yet, there are a couple things we can chat about. Are you up for it? Let’s get into it.

So, WWE Management is supposedly kicking around some ideas for matches for John Cena and Logan Paul came up as a possible opponent. Word is that no one likes the idea of this at WrestleMania ‘cause that’s a sucky way to go out. Personally, I don’t mind the idea of Cena vs. Paul but it doesn’t need to be at Mania. It doesn’t even have to be on a PPV. I would be fine with it at a Fallout show. And I’d like to see Cena get the best of him but due to being a seasoned veteran. Not because of any physical prowess or what have you. He should just “out wrestle” Paul. Paul can talk his shit and all that. Lean on Cena being old and out of practice and just let Cena have the final word in the end. Don’t really care where they put it so, I don’t mind if WrestleMania 41 is nixed. 

In other news, word is that Becky Lynch can be expected for the January 6th, Netflix debut for RAW. It’s hard to say if she’ll be in action or just making an appearance but she’s been included heavily in the advertising. We’ll see how she reinvents herself if the rumors are true. I’m not the biggest fan. She’s kinda skinny for my taste but she performs well. Knows what she’s doing so, I don’t complain. 

And so that brings us to tonight’s SmackDown. Not much is advertised and the spoilers aren’t giving up too much, but we can expect Chelsea Green to formally celebrate her US Championship. Bayley will team up with Bianca Belair & Naomi to take on Nia Jax, Candace LaRae and Tiffany Stratton in 6-Woman Tag action and Nick Aldis will get out in front of the Kevin Owens situation. 

The unofficial watch party will start at 8pm PST. Join in if you’re staying in for the night. It’s a fair way to spend a couple of hours.
