SmackDown Wishes us a Happy Holiday & Has Some Saturday Main Event Fallout....

 How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Enjoying the calm before Christmas? For the stateside readers, how do you like the rise in egg prices again 🙃 I saw one of those 60-egg crates going for about $40 🤯 Yup, just another day in paradise.

As for the Wrestling World, there’s quite a bit to chat about today. A lot going on with the Holidays and such along with anticipation for the new year. Shall we break it down? Let’s.

We'll stop at the Realm of AEW for a bit since word spread of the  banger Will Osprey and Darby Allin put on this past Wednesday at AEW’s Continental Classic. So, I had to sit down and take a look. I have to concur, it was a fine a match. Allin is definitely growing on me. I can’t see him working outside of AEW, due to his size, but he’s got moxie. Gotta give it to him. He was pulling off very slick moves against Osprey. Just putting that lean frame to full use.

Osprey seemed to be going with the flow more than usual, I’ll give him that. It was definitely marked but not as obviously choreographed as his matches tend to be. Allin threw it all at him and got the win which I would say is well-deserved. You’d think he’d get more credit having gotten hit with a bus and all but with Allin looking like he weighs 50lbs wet, I just don’t see how he’d get taken seriously in a Universe like WWE’s. I hope he makes the most of his niche, though. Glad there is a place for him.

Naturally, I had to check in on how Jon Moxley and company are doing and I have to say I like how it’s settling into its storyline with Orange Cassidy, Hangman Adam Page and Jay White. I don’t know much about Page or White. Cassidy already impressed me with previous efforts so I’m not worried about him. It’s all looking like it’s coming together, though. Knew that it could. Now, it’s just about keeping things interesting until, you know…something else happens. Just mind the laws of the state things go down in 😉 You know…should something happen.

Over in the WWE Universe, there are few things going. First, let’s get the bad news out of the way as word has been received that Rey Mysterio’s uncle, Rey Misterio, Sr. passed. It is too bad as well since he wasn’t that old at 66. Hopefully, there’s a condition to blame, otherwise it’s just a shame. My sincere condolences to the Mysterio Family. This will be a bittersweet Holiday for them.

In lighter news, Charlotte Flair has been posting training videos, leading us to believe that she’ll be returning soon. She’s been recovering and rehabilitating a severe knee injury. It’s hard to say if she’ll ever be an original 100% but hopefully she finds a new normal that’s more than satisfactory. All the best to her and her efforts.

Elsewhere in the WWE Universe, there’s talk that a Bloodline specific title belt is being contemplated. Myself along with many IWC commenters feel that the Ula Falaa already serves this purpose so, the idea seems a bit redundant. I think it’s best to keep the “Tribal Chief” business, their business. Given how big the family is and that it’s pretty much a given this is a family business to them, let them handle it. It can always be a source of story/drama which just compliments their legacy. They should take full advantage. It can be a familial symbol in times of “conflict” and “peace”.  Leave it at that. All I’d do is embellish it over time. Just make it more ornate and perhaps ceremonial.

So, that brings us to tonight’s SmackDown.  It’s a prerecorded affair so that the roster can enjoy some family time. I believe the same goes for next week’s RAW as well. We can expect Grayson Waller to start back up the “Grayson Waller Effect” with Braun Strowman as his guest. Johnny Gargano has some explaining to do against Alex Shelley of the Motor City Machine Guns. And Naomi gets Bianca Belair’s back defending the Tag Team Championships against Nia Jax and Candace LaRae.

Haven’t looked at the spoilers so going in fresh. The unofficial watch party will be at 8pm PST as usual. Stop by if you don’t have any better ideas. It’s something to do.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
