Survivor Series / War Games - RAW Fallout 2024
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
How’s it feel to be
back in the swing of things? That’s for my stateside readers. For the
international ones, a merry Monday to you. I hope you had a good one. Mine was
busy, naturally. Everything picking back up from where we left off. As for the
Wrestling World, we had a fine Survivor Series this past weekend so, without
any further ado, let’s do a brief review.
Some people always
gripe but I found this year’s Survivor Series was a very solid show. Sure, there
were some hokey moments here and there but that comes with the territory. As far
as the IWC is concerned, Match of the Night went to the Bloodline Civil War /
War Games. CM Punk proved his worth but coming out and showing us how we’re
supposed to go at this. Sure, it’s for play-play but it’s a competition nonetheless.
Nothing wrong with some gnashed teeth. The Intercontinental Championship Triple
Threat took silver with the Ladies’ War Games closing out the podium with bronze.
Personally, I didn’t
really see a bad match. Some were just more entertaining than others but no one
should feel they performed poorly. Everyone went out and earned their paycheck.
That’s all we can ask for. It was nice to see Damian Priest actually utilizing
some wrestling moves and it was also nice to see Shinsuke Nakamura get some
respect.
I don’t have
anything against LA Knight but he’s more fluff than substance. Not that I need him
to gain some depth. I think he just has to have fun doing what he does. He’s closer
to the end so, I don’t think he should try to prove anything other than that he
can hang. I don’t mind if he sticks to rocking the mic. It’s his strength, no
shame in leaning on it. He could probably segue to the Announce Team in time.
He’s another one who could be like Wade Barrett and sometimes mix it up if the
action allows. I don’t necessarily need to see him wrestle. But he is entertaining,
I will give him that.
Tonight, we have the
RAW Fallout and it looks like they’re setting the stage for some new juicy
showdowns. There are a few returns I can see from the spoilers and what looks like a New Day Heel Turn. Quelle surprise! There’s not much advertised,
though. We can expect to see Damage CTRL 2.0 face off against Liv Morgan &
Raquel Rodriguez. Shayna Baszler gets back to the grind as she vies for a
chance at the brand new Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Dakota Kai and Katana
Chance will throw their hats in the ring as well. And as you probably already know,
CM Punk will open the night’s festivities.
We’ll have to watch
to fill in the rest of the blanks. Unofficial watch party starts at 8pm PST. Let’s
see what awaits!
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole
