SmackDown Hosts the Dress Rehearsal for Saturday Night Main Event...
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
Enjoying your Friday? I hope so. I have some self-care plans for the weekend so, why not start now. As for the Wrestling World, there are some things we can chat about. Not much has me captivated but we can have a decent conversation nonetheless. Are you up for it? Let’s do it.
First, we’ll take a brief look at the Realm of AEW to see how Jon Moxley and crew took last week’s notes. Well, this week’s efforts were definitely more entertaining, I’ll give ‘em that. Mox was slipping into…familiar tones if I may say. All I’ll add is remember the timing. Though I love to see Dean Ambrose break through, I hope Mox paces himself.
If something “epic” is in the works, not popping off too soon is critical. Unless, he manages to make that part of the whole thing. Not impossible but this is new territory. Best not to get too experimental. But do have fun and push boundaries. What I saw was fun but it could lead to “dissension”. Only go there if the story is fleshed out to tell, is all I’m saying. Otherwise, carry on.
Back in the WWE Universe, there are a few updates. It appears that Bronson Reed had successful surgery for his busted foot but reports are stating that the extensiveness of the injury was more complex than anticipated. His timeline for recovery was already indefinite but that seems to be confirmed with this new information. Let’s wish him well all the same and hopefully we’ll see him some time next year. Not sure who’s going to handle issuing the PTO in the meantime, though 😉
On the Ladies side, word is that we can probably expect both Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch back in action come the new year. Some speculate that Flair could be back as soon as this weekend for the re-debut of Saturday Night: Main Event! Lynch has been photographed making the rounds as well so, these reports could hold some weight but you know how it is over here. We’ll have to wait and see.
And so, that brings us to tonight’s SmackDown. I’m not sure if this is considered a Go-Home show but it’s a preview for tomorrow night. We can expect Solo Sikoa to switch focus to LA Knight for now. The Ladies will settle the Semifinals for the Women’s US Championship. Mia Yim will take on Tiffany Stratton while Bayley boxes Chelsea Green. Word is we may see some “upsets” here. And Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes will give their final thoughts before throwing down on Saturday night.
Unofficial watch party will be at 8pm PST per usual but since the Saturday show will be aired live, that will start at 5pm PST. Shouldn’t kill me. Looking forward to the extra dose. Hope everyone else does too.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
