Summer Slam's Payback Is Complete! RAW Now Wants You to Think of Clash of Champions...

Image
Hello, Enthusiasts! How is this Monday treating you?   Well, did you catch Payback?   To be honest, it was a lot cleaner show than I was anticipating.   Though the creative issues are still there, WWE is at least making the most of what is working which couldn’t always be said in the past.   There’s still a lot of work to be done but for the first time since I’ve started watching again, it appears that they’re actually going to take a shot at doing it. So, there were some pleasant surprises at Payback, the most underrated of which was probably the opening match with Apollo Crews and Bobby Lashley.   This was the best display of wrestling for the night.   I suppose we shouldn’t be too surprised but I certainly wasn’t expecting Lashley and Crews to come out and set the tone but they did and popular or not, they established themselves as true forces to be reckoned with in the WWE Universe.   Kudos to them! Also, a little side play from Buddy Murphy continues to prove interesting.

Summer Slam Nailed It! Can RAW Continue the Trend...

H ow Are You All Doing, Enthusiasts? Enjoy Summer Slam? Before we get into all that, let’s get the current WWE Universe news/rumors out of the way.   So, it looks like it’s official.   Renée Young is leaving the WWE for greener pastures and I have to say, we were lucky to have her for as long as we did.    Her sweet disposition and lovely form could easily charm anyone and I’m sure she’ll find success wherever she ends up.   Naturally, there’s speculation that we may see her on AEW, making it easier to maintain her marriage with Jon Moxley but personally, I think she can do better.   There’s word that FOX Sports may have some plans for her and I hope that’s so, FOX or ESPN.   She should do some real world work, really build her resume and once she’s done some fit for real Journalism, maybe we could again be so lucky to be graced with her presence.   May she find the best in her future endeavors. Now, let’s get into Summer Slam.   It was actually a solid show.   It was like 90% dece

It Was Dicey at Times But We Make It to Summer Slam...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? You ready for Summer Slam?   Well, I have to say I’m curious to say the least.    There’s a lot in flux in the WWE Universe at the moment and that makes it hard to feel completely confident about the evening’s fare but, I’m sure they’re going to make a good go of it.   We’ll be watching to see if they manage to land on their feet.   So, as usual, I’m not going to comment on every match.    I’ll just focus on the ones that capture my particular interest.   Sonya DeVille and Mandy Rose get a pass given the circumstances.   It’s highly speculated that Sonya DeVille will lose the Hair vs. Hair Match so that she can properly recuperate from her traumatic home invasion.   She’s being quite the professional playing through.   So, that leaves Asuka doing double duty with the matches to focus on.   She’ll battle both Sasha Banks and Bayley to see if she can take a title off one of them.   I think it’s highly likely she’ll get 1.    She’ll probably win the matc

A Good Friday to You, Enthusiasts! Here we are at the Go Home Show for Summer Slam and we have a new Thunderdome experience to look forward to.   So far, the reports appear more favorable than not so it may not be a total loss.   We’ll have to see if they make good use of it.   It’s quite clear there’s some “housecleaning” going on for WWE.   It may not be until next year that we can get a clear idea of how things are going.   Be patient.   These are indeed uncertain times. In other WWE News, well we’ve all heard about Sonya DeVille and the home invader.   Ghastly, but there are rumors going ‘round saying that DeVille’s guest was Mandy Rose.   I hope this isn’t true, only because it makes the whole thing come off like a work and I wouldn’t want to trivialize an actually grave situation.   News outlets are sticking to “a guest” but wrestling sites are spreading around it was Rose.   If it was, I hope they never confirm. Now, back to Summer Slam, it’s hard to say what to expect.

A Good Friday to You, Enthusiasts. Everything going smoothly?  Still sane?  I hope so.  Well, the next chapter of The Fiend Experience is happening while I type so, let’s see what’s going on in the WWE Universe.  The rumor that caught me was the one on AEW and WWE being in a bidding war for Rey Mysterio.  Personally, I think he’s better off in the WWE but I don’t know.  With how they wrote him off, I wouldn’t be too keen to return.  If that’s all they got for him maybe AEW would make the use of his time more interesting.  Yet, AEW seems a bit gritty for his fare.  I feel he simply fits more with the WWE.  I feel the same about Rusev/Miro.  He just doesn’t seem to fit anywhere else.  I’m pretty sure Rusev’s coming back once the WWE financials even out.  As for Mysterio, it all depends on what he wants.  More than likely he’ll do both, a stint with AEW to retire with WWE.  That’s my guess. As for tonight’s SmackDown, we get some crumbs on what happens to Alexa Bliss and Braun Strowman.

How Are You Doing, Enthusiasts? Well, before I get into everything I want to get into, let’s take a moment to discuss some interesting news that’s circulating in both the WWE Universe and the actual Media.   It appears The Rock along with some other partners, his ex-wife included, have decided to purchase the XFL at a steal for $15 million.   Challenging economic times make way for moves like this and this is some interesting information to consider.   It’s hard to say what the implications are with everything so uncertain.   This new league could now potentially rival the NFL by luring current players with better conditions than the NFL currently wants to offer.   Wrestlers who need new options could reconsider an old or new career path.   There’s some potential in this turn of events.   I’m curious to see how it will develop.   In other WWE News, the Bella Twins have had their babies.   The ladies had themselves a son each about a day apart taking “twinning” to the ultimate level

SmackDown Has a Lot to Share on Its Way to Summer Slam...

A Good Friday to You, Enthusiasts! How’s every little thing?   So, before getting into SmackDown I just want to give a little praise to this week’s RAW for it was one of the more solid shows I’ve seen in some time.   Though the word is that ratings are falling, I would have to say that the content has been improving.   Given the current state of affairs, it’s a little too clear that the WWE simply can’t get away with being sub-par anymore.   There is a distinct attempt to course correct at the moment and I couldn’t be happier about this development.   It always takes a crisis, doesn’t it?   The main event of Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler was stellar and Randy Orton putting the cherry on the top is basically the sort of finish that I hope marks the beginning of a new era. I don’t expect every night to end that way because that would ruin these sorts of special moments but the shows should have solid finishes of similar caliber.   According to whatever story is being sold, the en

A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts. How’s everyone doing?   Can’t say I have much to complain about.   I got my health and a roof over my head so, things could certainly be worse.   So, what’s going on in the WWE Universe?   Well, not much that grabs my attention but there is one rumor that did hold my interest.   It appears there’s a consensus that with the removal of Paul Heyman from his former creative duties, so goes the push that was fueling Aleister Black’s presentation.   The general word is that Vince McMahon soured on him for unknown reasons.   One of the theories is that Black lacks something in regards to superstardom.   Doesn’t have “It”, I suppose.   Well, I don’t have any problem with Black.   Yes, he’s not that imposing but his stats do make up for it.   It does appear he’s a skilled enough fighter to know how to properly deal with a large opponent.   But is that what the WWE Universe wants?   Well, I don’t think it matters that much.   I like Black’s dark appeal.   See

A Good Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts! How did you like last night’s RAW ?   I don’t know if it’s a good thing, but it was more fun than Summer Slam to be honest.   Again, not sure if that’s what they were going for but I hope someone is taking note.   Sasha Banks returned on a Heel-Turn.   Could the blue hair indicate a brand switch as well?   And they’re starting to get a feel for how to showcase the 24/7 Title.   Good for them!  The only bit that didn’t really work for me was the main event.   AJ Styles and Seth Rollins got into it fair enough but when The OC jumped in to DQ the match, Ricochet came riding in to the rescue.   I guess that was to dovetail off the feud he had with Styles but it confused the hell out of the crowd.   I didn’t see it coming either but I was able to piece a hypothesis together.   Yet, that’s not the end of it.   To provide further support, M.I.A. Braun Strowman returned to assist in the walloping on the Heels.   What’s funny to me about this is that the

Summer Slam Is Done! Let RAW Guide You to the Next Stop...

Greetings Enthusiasts! How did Summer Slam treat you?   Well, for me I thought it was lacking but not exactly a bad show.   It was like a really solid RAW .   There wasn’t so much the pomp and circumstance that I was anticipating for a Summer Slam. That’s the main reason I thought there’d be a lot of “last minute changes” but it went pretty much as advertised so, all I hope for now is that this was the plan.   This is fine if it's a step towards a larger unveiling/reveal but if this was all they had this year, I hope they take note and set a higher standard for next year. It really didn’t feel like that big of a deal. As for the content itself, a few segments stood out. As many of you know, The Fiend made his in-ring debut and for me, I wasn’t all that impressed yet, I accept that I am in the minority.   That being said, this got me more excited for the return of Finn Bálor.   I know he’s going to take a little time off and this absence is the perfect opportunity to retool

We Now Brace Ourselves for SUMMER SLAM!!!!!

A Good Sunday to You, Enthusiasts! Are you ready for Summer Slam?   You know, I’m honestly curious as to how it will all play out.   With the new guard of Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff in the mix along with some matches still “pending”, I get the feeling this is the first time in a long while where it’s not about the matches so much as it is about the show and that’s a very compelling aspect of this Summer Slam.   It’s as if this is officially the beginning of a new era within the WWE.   And it is that reason that I’m not really going to run down the matches.   I’m not even sure if the match card will hold up.   I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a slew of “changes” and last minute “surprises”.   I doubt this will go “as planned” in many ways. That being said, that cuts this post very short because we simply have to wait and see what happens.   To be honest, the match I think many of us can agree we wouldn’t mind being “subject to change” is the Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins
