So, Stomping Grounds Was...Something... RAW Now Wants You to Look at Something Else!...

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts!

So, I wouldn’t say that Stomping Grounds was a disaster but it definitely wasn’t what I was expecting.  But, it wasn’t all bad, to be honest.  Though, notice must be taken at how the Kick-off Show match for the Cruiserweight Title was the best match of the evening.  “Hijinks” appeared to get in the way of most of the show action.  This is too bad because it was clear that people were trying out there but I don’t know…maybe Management was trying a bit too hard on this one.  Hopefully, they realize this and bring this back to basics.

So tonight, we have the Fallout and there should be plenty.  Word is that the plan is to set-up a Mixed Tag Match with Lacey Evans & Baron Corbin against Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch at Extreme Rules.  Now, last night’s main event was one of the more cringe-worthy matches of the night due to this angle.  I personally feel that wrestlers’ real relationships should be kept in the Promos.  It makes for great shit-talk but to bring it into the match is simply too contrived.  It’s just too clear that this is all for show and though we know it’s fake, we still want to be fooled.  That’s why people hate spoilers.  They want to see the movie/game/match for themselves.  Throw stuff like that in and it doesn’t matter who wins.  It’s all just put together to placate a non-existent need.  No one is asking for this so why give it?  I suppose we’ll have to let WWE Management witness the groans and rolled eyes for themselves.  I’m telling ya, they can’t carry on like this.  Not with AEW nipping at the heels.  I’m all for experimentation but WWE Management has to start acting like they know this already.  They don’t want to confirm the rumors of being out of touch.

In any case, for tonight it looks like AJ Styles will see if he’s still got it as he faces off against the newly crowned, US Title holder Ricochet in a non-title match.  Also, Roman Reigns will have another crack at Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon in an official 2-on-1 Handicap Match.  To be fair, their match wasn’t that bad last night.  I respect that they tried to “wrestle” but guys like this, just let ‘em box it out.  The chemistry between these 2 isn’t the best though they are finding some sort of rhythm nonetheless.  It seems they were more “subject to the experiment” than they were staged to put on a good match.  That’s probably why Shane was in there messing with stuff, it protects them both if it’s a wash.  I can forgive that.  Hopefully, tonight they’ll be allowed to just have some fun.  Should be better all-around if that’s the case.  So, let’s see if they address the issues or give us more of the same.  I highly suggest the former.  Funny tweets get retweeted and as for Likes/Favorites, don’t lie out there but don’t act like stuff is better than it is.  Remember, we’re trying to get them to improve.

See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
