Cool Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts!
I’m
not sure where you are, but where I am it’s hot! So, I have to say that I kinda like this slow
burn that RAW is experimenting
with. We advanced the King of the Ring
tournament. We get some intrigue as the RAW Semifinal becomes a Triple Threat
with Baron Corbin now having to face Samoa Joe and Ricochet. This gets interesting because there is no
clear favorite. Ricochet is crazy in the
ring. Corbin is a formidable opponent
just due to the size of him and Samoa Joe is rigidly focused at the moment. No matter what, it should be entertaining.
Moreover,
we have the SmackDown quarterfinals
for tonight where we’ll see Elias face Mustafa Ali and Chad Gable gets a shot
at Andrade. I’m thinking it’s gonna be
Elias and Andrade here. Story-wise,
Elias has Shane’s backing and Andrade is supposed to be dating Charlotte so, I don’t
see Gable being that over to be considered a “must see” match but I’m not
saying the gentleman isn’t talented. You
know how it is here. It’s a popularity
contest and Gable comes off square. That’s
why I like the idea of reestablishing the firm of Benjamin & Gable. The whole being “square” thing gets
nullified. They’re simply a solid firm
and with the Tag Team Division solidifying, it may be a way to make good use of
them. We’ll see how that develops. Maybe they could have a minor rivalry that
breaks down to a whole “I miss you, man!...” without the double entendre. All I ask is that it isn’t too random.
Also,
we have the 1st story, ledge-hanger of who’s out to get Roman Reigns
to play out. Daniel Bryan issued a
statement continuing to demand an apology from Reigns and I think he should
give it to him. If it was Rowan acting
alone, then the focus should be on Rowan.
Would that lead to a match? Don’t
know. Rowan is no joke, he’s huge and a
squash isn’t realistic but, something
should be done. Maybe a backstage bust
up that allows Rowan to save face but ultimately he takes a trashcan to the
head and if Bryan still has shit to say, he finds Reigns in the ring? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We’ll see what they come up with.
In other news, we also may get to see the newly heeled Bayley try
out her new persona. I liked the
pseudo-heel turn but in keeping with her being Our Arya Stark, this may merely
be a way to evolve Bayley’s character.
The cutesy-poo thing stays cute for only so long and though I can easily
see her being the WWE “baby sister” for life, as did Arya Stark, Bayley has to
grow up too. I don’t mind this sea
change. Hope she has fun with it. As for the We…funny tweets will get
retweeted and as for Likes/Favorites, well, we have to keep an eye on the sense here. We can overlook madness if it’s
entertaining. If it simply leaves us
with blank stares, what was the point? Allow
for the occasional miss but we are looking for hits! That’s what allows the genius to flow. Make do with what you can.
