SmackDown Shows Up to Do Its Part for BackLash...
A Good Friday to You Enthusiasts.
This week, that
actually applies (^_~) I hope this is a good Easter weekend for you. As for the
Wrestling World, there are some rumblings. Not everything really interests me but
it’s circulating so, I’ll chat about it. Why not.
So, the first bit
going around is the end of this week’s AEW Dynamite. Apparently, AEW pulled
a sort of WWE move by having Satnam Singh ruin a Samoa Joe win. AEW says it’s
to gain popularity with the Indian demographic. I find this interesting. Mainly
because I never thought AEW was any better than WWE. AEW was just doing their
own thing, not necessarily a better thing. I’ve said that’s really the only difference.
All these gals/guys are just doing their shit as opposed to WWE’s. Neither one
is getting any Emmy nods.
The only thing WWE
really has over AEW is their production values. We all know WWE is better funded.
And with this WarnerMedia and Discovery merger in the works, AEW may have some corporate
pressure to produce a more respectable show. I’m not saying mimicking WWE does
that I’m just saying, they might as well follow the model for now. AEW can at
least say, that’s what WWE does if any Suits start to question how they do
things. Yet, it inadvertently confirms my previous point. Their stuff isn’t exactly
better just theirs. We’ll see if tonight’s Rampage makes up for any of
it.
In the WWE
Universe, WWE is getting some flak for teetering on the line of false
advertising. Sure, the card is always subject to change but word is that they
had Brock Lesnar on advertising for Backlash without actually having him
booked. Whether he’s there or not doesn’t sway me but some people do decide whether
to attend a show on this sort of information. A few fans are feeling baited and
switched. Don’t blame them but as I keep saying, WWE is a Heel company. If you’re
going to go to a show, go to a show. Don’t care who shows up. Only then may you
get pleasantly surprised.
With that, we’re brought
to tonight’s SmackDown. We can expect Ricochet facing Jinder Mahal for
the Intercontinental Title. Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre go at it again ‘cause
shits & giggles. And Randy Orton and Riddle show up to show they ain’t afraid
of The Usos. For everything else, you gotta watch the show. Funny tweets and
Likes get retweeted. Let’s see what you come up with.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis
