SmackDown Keeps Things Interesting as We Coast to SummerSlam...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!

Is it hot where you are? I’m not quite melting but this is why I like the summer months. Always shed a few pounds just due to the heat 😉 Anyway, there isn’t a whole lot going on in the Wrestling World but enough to chat a little bit. Shall we get into it?

So, first thing that jumps out is the rumors of Ronda Rousey going back to UFC are appearing to be just that. There are now reports going around that Rousey currently has no plans to return. Some commenters pointed out that it’s been over 6 years since she last competed and was on a losing streak at the time so, to think she was returning was probably farfetched to begin with.

Well, if anyone has taken note of how social media and commenters don’t necessarily fact check, this should be no surprise. Many follow the human inclination of jumping to conclusions with only a few bits of information and presuming one is absolutely right. I try not to fall into this easy trap but I couldn’t help noticing the sentiments floating around. They’re not always wrong but they’re absolutely not always right. I’m fine with Rousey figuring it out in WWE. I think it could click one day.

In other news, people are still clamoring for more LA Knight and I’m beginning to see why. A lot of his exploits are starting to turn up on social media and they’re funny. He can entertain so he has that going for him. Yet, how to incorporate that WWE-wise? Though it is Sports Entertainment, he has to get in that ring and move us otherwise, I agree with the idea of making him a charismatic manager. In that revisited case, he would have the less talkative wrestlers in his bevy of talent. He could leverage his charisma as they learn how to present themselves. Yet, that doesn’t have to happen tomorrow. I’m fine with seeing if he can bag himself a US Title or something. Give him 3-5 years to figure it out and if it falls flat, double-down on his mouth and have fun. We will see what happens.

And so, that basically brings us to tonight’s SmackDown. The Bloodline Saga is boiling down to another showdown between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso. Well, Jey has been pushing for an Emmy for so long and now look, an actors’ strike (wah-wah). Can’t catch a break. Well, maybe he can make the most of it because he’s not in the union but I wonder how this affects people like John Cena and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Do they show solidarity or take advantage of straddling the middle? Suppose we’ll see.

In the meantime, for tonight, we have the Women’s Championship match between Asuka and Bianca BelAir to look forward to. Also, there’s a Fatal-4-Way advertised but the players have yet to be disclosed. Guess we’ll just have to tune in and see.

I plan on watching at 8pm PDT but it may be later because primetime operates differently where I am. It may come on later in the evening. If I can watch without a problem, I’ll be tweeting and watching per usual but I’ll send out a notice if it’s delayed. Don’t let that stop you from having fun whenever you get around to it.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
