RAW Does a Little Ground Work for the Royal Rumble...
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
Here we are
in the second week of January and we have some fun things to look forward to tonight.
There’s some talk floating around, not sure how valid it all is but it’s there.
Shall we chat a little?
There’s
speculation that both Mercedes Moné/Sasha Banks and Naomi may make returns to
WWE in the near future. There was a lot of chatter that Moné was heading to AEW
but that chatter died down recently and everyone is kinda standing by with
bated breath to see where she ends up.
Naomi
sounded like more of a done deal but I haven’t heard much on that of late so, I
don’t know how valid that rumor ever was. Regardless, I don’t mind either one
returning. In a way, it makes sense. As much as she should see what the world
holds, I think an inherent truth was already confirmed. WWE is far from perfect
but it’s the pinnacle of the industry. If you can work there, why work anywhere
else?
In other yet
adjacent news, there’s some talk about when Bron Breakker should get called up.
He’s the oldest 25-year-old I’ve ever seen but I can see how his action could
be exciting. Being a legacy helps him as well. Yet, the current consensus is
what to do with him. If there’s no plan for his debut and after, most feel he should
stay in NXT and I can concur. We’ve seen too many get called up just to get
sent back or released because no real plan was in effect. It was a straight up
sink or swim type sitch and in this Universe, one is more likely to sink thank
swim. I don’t mind waiting for him to learn how to stay afloat.
And so,
that brings us to tonight’s RAW. We can expect CM Punk to greet us this
evening. Sounds like Drew McIntyre gets to help him out. JD McDonagh will
continue some auxiliary Judgment Day business as he resumes a side feud with The
Miz. The newer ladies in Kayden Carter & Katana Chance will go round with Chelsea
Green & Piper Niven for another Tag Team Championship bout. And at some
point, Cody Rhodes will get himself a piece of Shinsuke Nakamura. That is if
Nakamura allows it.
We got
about 3 weeks until the Royal Rumble so things shouldn't get too nuts but they
should start to ramp up. The unofficial watch party starts at 8pm PST. You’re
always welcome to play along if you got nothing better to do on a Monday night.
I have fun. Suggest you give it a try and have fun with it too.
See You in
a Bit,
-Nicole
