SmackDown Brushes up on Its French Ahead of BackLash...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Enjoying the day? Well, some of you may have deducted that I had a birthday recently so, since it’s so close to the weekend, I’m using it to celebrate. Festivities begin this evening. My mom is even baking me a cake 😁 So, this is looking like it’ll be a good weekend already.

As for the Wrestling World, there’s some stuff going on. Nothing jaw dropping but we can have a brief chat. You up for it? Let’s do it.

So, it sounds like Matt Hardy may be returning to WWE. Since there’s some possibility of following the Bray Wyatt vein with Uncle Howdy, Hardy may step in and fill the void, so to speak, alongside Bo Dallas. This may make the medicine go down a little better because we all know that there’s no one who can replace Bray Wyatt but I think Hardy can respectfully honor the concept. Yet, he's thinking about incorporating AI to develop a VR version of Wyatt and I'm not sure about that. But if they keep things in "real time" for the most part, I think something could work but I would avoid the perks of technology. Cheapens the whole thing.

On that note, there’s heavy speculation that Erick Rowan will reprise his Wyatt Family affiliation as well. I’m not sure what to think just yet. As I’ve voiced, continuing any tradition without the founding parent is always a delicate matter. It’s just like trying to replace a lead singer for a popular band. It won’t ever be the same but there’s no reason the show can’t go on. We’ll see if they breathe new life into it and do it justice.

In other news, Drew Gulak is banished from the WWE Universe for the time being. Word of him taking liberties with Ronda Rousey have not gone over very well and we shall now not speak his name. It’s unlikely that he’ll return given this turn of events. Well, let that go to show you. Respect the women in your professional life, no matter the profession. Not sure why Gulak felt he could just get handsy with Rousey but that will learn him.

So, that more or less, brings us to tonight’s SmackDown. You can go ahead and not expect Roman Reigns for a time. Word is that he’ll be off television “indefinitely” and many have already seen posts on social media feeds of him staring alongside the likes of Keanu Reeves and Keke Palmer in the new movie Good Fortune. Looks like he’ll be working on outside projects here and there for the time being.

As for those slated to appear, we can anticipate AJ Styles and LA Knight throwing down again to rehash the WrestleMania beef. We will determine the #1 Contender for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles with AOP, Legado del Fantasma, The New Catch Republic and The Street Profits going for it. And Bayley will be a woman of her word as she defends the Women’s Title against Naomi as she promised. You’ll have to watch if you want to know what the rest of the evening holds. Unofficial watch party starts at 8pm PDT. Feel free to pick a platform and play along.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
