RAW Starts Our French Lessons for Backlash...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Hanging in there? Yeah, me too. So, there’s a few things to chat about this evening. Nothing too shocking but something to talk about. Are you up for it? Let’s get to it.

We’ll start on the outskirts of the Realm of AEW as Kenny Omega continues to recuperate. Omega had some praise for Roman Reigns as he feels he became a great Heel Champion. There are guys you love seeing with the title and there are guys you can’t wait to see lose the title and Reigns fell into the latter category. As far as Omega is concerned, he made watching him lose the hot ticket and he did the job well.

I will give that to Omega as with Cody Rhodes now Champion, it does feel like a new era  indeed but where does it go and does it captivate us? So far so good, but we will be watching and seeing for ourselves. This kind of crowd loses interest quickly and what the future holds is cloudy at best. We’ll see how it all develops.

In other news, I’m not quite sure how to handle this bit of information but, Logan Paul is expecting a baby with his fiancée. As much as it’s customary to say congratulations I can’t help but feel a little consternation at this development. Paul doesn’t exactly come off like a mature, well-rounded individual. Hard to say he’s what a good father is made of but that doesn’t mean he can’t rise to the challenge. He’s done surprisingly well at being a wrestler. Perhaps he’ll take to fatherhood just as well. Here’s to hoping.

Elsewhere in the WWE Universe, word is that Brock Lesnar will return one day, yet that day will probably be a few years away as the news of allegedly partaking in sex trafficking is still relatively fresh. Sounds like the Powers that Be are waiting for the stench to air out. It’s hard to say if this will be worthwhile given how things are changing. Lesnar was usually brought in to serve as some sort of Heel Juggernaut to ruin everyone’s day. These days, the tone of WWE content seems to be leaning more towards “fair play” so, why would they need that adversarial twist.

Given that, I think it’s a matter of where he can be brought in and if it makes sense. Someone would maybe have to talk a lot of shit. A big name, probably a Heel, can’t perform so he steps in. Perhaps come Survivor Series, someone ruthless tries to recruit him. As long as it follows some sort of believable train of thought, I can see it happening. Whether it’s well-received is another story so we’ll just see if they ever feel the need to bring him back. It’s not impossible but at present, it seems a bit unlikely.

So, that more or less brings us to tonight's RAW. There’s some talk going around since it appears that Rhea Ripley is injured and vacating the Women’s Title. A lot of criticism is circulating given how Seth Rollins was allowed to hold the Heavyweight Championship while injured. Reigns would sit around with the Title but Ripley has to vacate? Well, to me, seeing how they’re not elaborating on the injury, I’m going to say that it’s cover for some other issue going on in her life. Whatever the problem is, she can’t show up and defend the Championship and what she does next probably isn’t fleshed out creatively so she might as well take the vacation/extended leave. That’s what I’m getting from it.

Regardless, Cody Rhodes will be in attendance and will start to lay the foundation for Le Backlash. Sheamus will return and grace us with his presence. Dominik Mysterio will try to get a little payback on Andrade after getting double-crossed last week. Jey Uso will try to tap into the next level courtesy of Finn Bálor and tense allies in Sami Zayn and Chad Gable will face each other for the Intercontinental Championship.

The Twitter/X feed is all over the place so I can’t gather too much on the spoilers so I’ll be catching up at 8pm PDT. You’re always welcome to join in the fun. Pick your platform and play along.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
