SmackDown Pauses on BackLash Briefly to Attend to the Draft...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Happy Friday! Are you enjoying it so far? As with most, I’m just glad the workday is over. Now, I can relax a bit. So, the Wrestling World has a few things going on tonight. Again, nothing too shocking but I think we can have a little fun with this chat. Let’s get into it, shall we?

Let’s start in the Realm of AEW, as Tony Khan finally got into the action. He did as all CEOs of wrestling promotions do at some point and took and sold a bump. He welcomed back the infamous Jack Perry and in a moment of “clueless vulnerability”, Perry and his cronies took Khan out.

I didn’t really know how small Khan was until this display. He’s like what? 140-145 lbs on a good day? So, Khan took a piledriver and attended his other duties in the NFL alongside his father in a neck brace. He’s a good sport, I’ll give him that but I would have played it up way more. Guess he couldn’t due to previous engagements but I would be doing the next thing to traction that they do these days and would be screaming all sorts of bloody murder, ready for Perry’s head. That smug, SOB! That’s the last time he’ll ever see a wrestling ring! And so on and so forth. That’s the only thing that’s really missing. Nevertheless, I’m glad Khan got his hands dirty. That’s what you gotta do if you mean business.

It just so happens that Kenny Omega is slated to appear next week for their Dynamite show in Winnipeg. Not sure what this will lead to since we can only imagine that Omega is still recovering from being hospitalized with diverticulitis last year. However, it’s nice to hear that he may be on the mend so, appreciate the good news. We’ll see where it leads.

Back in the WWE Universe, the big news is the Draft. It starts tonight with SmackDown and we see how everyone gets mixed up and shifted around. It’s a good way to inject some fresh blood into the product so there’s some curiosity in the air. I suppose who gets officially called up from NXT will get some attention too. We also can expect Rey Mysterio to get into action alongside his mentee in Dragon Lee. They’ll pick up where they left off against Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo. We can also expect Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles to sit down and have their contract signing for BackLash en français. For all else, you’ll have to check in and see. Unofficial watch party starts at 8pm PDT per usual. Looks like next week, instead, may have me detained a bit but it will be for good reason. Let’s enjoy ourselves in the meantime. Pick your platform and play along.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
