Netflix Welcomes RAW!...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Did you have a nice weekend? My weekend was purposeful. Got some things done, watched a few movies. It was nice in it’s simplicity. Now, we’re back in the swing of things. New month, new year, new way to watch RAW, among other things. Ready to talk about it? Let’s get to it.

First, we’ll stop by the Realm of AEW courtesy of New Japan as Kenny Omega made his return to the ring this past weekend. As you may remember, he’s been out for about a year with an acute case of diverticulitis but appears to have recovered and is back to doing his thing. He’s got plans to reestablish himself back in the AEW fold which should be interesting seeing how things are going. I’m curious to see how he figures and with who. All in all, it’s good to see him healthy. Welcome back!

In the WWE Universe, we all know this is the big Netflix debut of RAW and so talk has been mostly about what to expect. From what I’ve been seeing, we should have a more leisurely time of enjoying the show as we’ll be able to join in live and if we so please, start from the beginning. It’s also supposed to be available for view right after the show. Triple H also alluded to the show runtime to vary anywhere from under an hour to close to 3, depending on what they feel is necessary. I would like to see what constitutes a “short” show. Personally, I’d leave that for either natural disaster or “disaster”, the latter being scripted of course so, we’ll have to adjust to a more free-form format. Something I’m not exactly upset at. It also allows for more hijinks and surprises so, why not.

As for the night’s appearances, we all know John Cena will be there and The Rock is scheduled to appear as well. Many don’t care for it but Hulk Hogan is set for an appearance too. I don’t mind it, though I’m well aware of his less than popular viewpoints. I never cared much for him ‘cause I found his presentation just too much of a corny manifestation of the 80s that I was never really taken in but you can’t really deny his contribution though he should probably stick to having his statements screened.  The older crowd probably still remember him and that’s good enough, I guess. I’m not opposed to continuity. Besides, how long can his segment be? Endure it like a grandparent’s speech.

In any case, Logan Paul will be attendance to take your mind off Hogan. Tonight’s card is stacked as you can imagine. Jey Uso will see if he can keep Drew McIntyre at bay. Liv Morgan will see if she can keep her Women’s Title against Rhea Ripley and we will see if Solo Sikoa’s next attempt at winning us over against Roman Reigns changes our minds. All I say is that at least you know what you’re getting with Reigns. Sikoa is coming off like he’s no fun. We come here to have fun and he comes off like a strict substitute teacher. Hate it when Mr. Sikoa subs 😉 He’ll have to get us to enjoy his visits.

In the meantime, we’ll settle in and enjoy this show. I’ll sign on at 8pm PST. Feel free to wait or allow me to catch up. Guess it doesn’t matter much going forward. Partake at your leisure but the unofficial replay party will continue on at 8 o'clock.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
