RAW Is Ready for a Light Run to WrestleMania...

How’s It Going Enthusiasts?

Enjoying this Monday? Mine was busier than usual, hence the late start so, everything will be a bit behind this evening. C’est la vie. It’s always about what one doesn’t plan. Yet, these are not complaints, simply observations. As for the Wrestling World, there’s some things to talk about but I won’t touch on it as much. Still need to see what I missed. Let’s get into everything else in the meantime. Here we go.

As you probably know, AEW had their Dynasty PPV this past Sunday and I can’t really comment on the implications. I suppose those will become clearer on this week’s Dynamite Fallout Show. Match of the Night went to Kenny Omega, Ricochet and “Speedball” Mike Bailey. Knowing what I do know, this shouldn’t be very surprising. I’ll try to take a longer look but what I saw was fun.

As for our man, Jon Moxley, he retained the Championship with the return of the Young Bucks to most people’s chagrin. Swerve Strickland was “doomed” from the start. Yet, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s over this particular bullshit. The Young Bucks are just what they look like. A couple of brothers who actually made rough-housing their profession only without the polish. They’re no Hardy Boyz that’s for sure. They make you feel like you could limber up and go out there and do it. It’s hard to take ‘em serious because of that. As for Mox, he can have fun “explaining” why he’s in cahoots with them. I’d say it’s ‘cause they make him look like Omega (wrestling-wise) by comparison 😉 But we’ll leave Mox to fill in the blanks.

The Lady offerings of Toni Storm vs. Megan Bayne and Mercedes Moné vs. Julia Hart got honorable mentions. I’ll try to take a look at those too. A good match is a good match, no matter where it’s held. Most aren’t speaking too highly of this PPV and many were disheartened by the end but I figure that’s the point. Life has plenty of disappointment so why should the Wrestling World be void of it. People get used to being placated. Keep the “wins” occasional and they mean more when they happen. Leave the Realm of AEW to its way.

Over in the WWE Universe, there’s a lot of chatter about the verbal face-off between Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton that went down on last week’s SmackDown. Well, I don’t blame either one of ‘em for going off script but it didn’t land enough to prevent WWE Brass from editing history. The clip has been trimmed down on their YouTube channel, leading many to believe the exchange didn’t go as planned.

The Chicago Crowd wasn’t being nice, to be fair. They made their feelings on Charlotte very clear. Don’t bother. Flair appears to be in a tough spot. I don’t mind the new kids coming up but Flair isn’t a bad performer. People appear to simply be sick of her. It reminds me of when Roman Reigns was getting shoved down our throats way back when. She’s not being shoved down our throats but she’s being presented in a way that fans aren’t accepting.

I’m not sure how to correct this but my general go-to is humor. Flair can talk reasonable shit but perhaps this is a time to try a little silliness? Maybe infuse a sense of humility. She should essentially be helping the kids get over but I always thought she’s a good placeholder for a lackluster Title. You know, just until Creative stumbles upon a better idea. She should always be “in the hunt” as long as she’s able but she doesn’t need to win all the time either.

Turning this around will take some savvy but it’s not impossible. Perhaps Flair should attempt a “charm offensive” on Stratton. Lull her into a false sense of security sort of thing. I’m not so sick of Flair that I’ll boo her presence. I would like to see the match with Stratton have some viable anticipation but setting it up the conventional way may not take. Time for some out of the box thinking. We’ll see what happens.

And so, that brings us to tonight’s RAW. Next week is WrestleMania Go-Home Week, so we should be seeing the final pieces getting slotted into place save a few key “surprises”. We can expect “El Grande Americano” back in action. Lucha-Mitsu (Penta) will see how far Dominik Mysterio has come along. Bayley will see if she can get the Intercontinental Championship off of Lyra Valkyria. And Seth Rollins, CM Punk and Paul Heyman will be in attendance tonight. We can only assume Roman Reigns is sitting somewhere thinking about life.

I’ll get to the unofficial replay party during the 9 o’clock hour, Pacific Time. Since I got back late, everything is about 30 minutes behind so, don’t feel the need to wait for me. I’ll catch up. So, if you too are running late, have nothing to do tomorrow or are in the Eastern Hemisphere feel free to stop by.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
