SmackDown Matches Pace Following RAW into WrestleMania....

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Enjoying your Friday? This was supposed to be more eventful but that appears to be holding over for the weekend. No matter, as long as it happens 😉 As for the Wrestling World, there’s some stuff we can talk about, certainly. Ready for it? Let’s break it down.

We’ll stop in the Realm of AEW since this week was their Dynasty PPV Fallout Dynamite show. Well, with the Young Bucks back on the scene, Jon Moxley made it clear that they’re not exactly in league with each other so, the plot twist does make for some mild intrigue. Just the sort of thing needed to set whatever this is up for the “long game”. That’s good enough for me for now. There’s a lot of time for the “real stuff” to get going. This sort of thing is good groundwork. It can establish a sort of “reasonable doubt” while his enemies build a case. Mox can have moments of clarity when he wants to. The Future remains Bright. Continue.

Yet, this week it’s PAC who got the attention since he appeared to get injured in his match with Swerve Strickland. This is too bad on many levels. One, that could have been a great match and two, it always sucks to see a good performer go down and we all know PAC is the stuff of legend. This is why I think he’d make a good Brock Lesnar replacement, more or less.

Here’s what I mean about that. I’m not sure that Lesnar cares to clear his name or win back public appeal and most are fine with him quietly retiring given what came out about him so, who can fill this “beastly” role? I think in the future, PAC should be allowed to work as a sort of “hired gun”, a wrestling mercenary if you will. How exactly that would work, I’m not entirely sure but what I mean is that given his exceptional skill, he could be called in to get the cocky opponent to shake in his proverbial boots. The fact that he is short just adds to it for me because as we can see, be he but little he is fierce and what he doesn’t have in stature he more than makes up for in prowess. Besides, he’s built like a tank. He’s heavyweight for sure. I wouldn’t want any part of him. Taller guys can probably attest that stocky guys like that just don’t move if they don’t want to. That center of gravity makes them like a tree stump. You’ll have to chain him to a heavy duty truck and hope you don’t lose an axle.

If he could graduate to this sort of status, it could keep him healthy for longer and he could potentially show up anywhere. The idea may be farfetched but he’s one of those rare talents who could pull such a thing off. I don’t know if AEW would be so kind to lend him out or if he would have to officially become an eternal “free agent” but I think the idea should be considered. He’s just too good to not be seen and should be allowed to demonstrate what he’s truly capable of. If he keeps his rep clean, there’s definite promise. We shall see if the Wrestling Powers That Be ever consider it but that’s what I’d do with him. In any case, may PAC recover quickly.

Over in the WWE Universe, it appears that Kevin Owens wasn’t just whistling “Dixie” when he told us of his need for neck surgery. Word is that he’s already undergone the procedure. Well, excuse me if I don’t quite believe it until after WrestleMania. He’s the type to cry wolf so, can’t help but take such statements with a few grains of salt but if he is actually ailing of course I hope for his swift recovery. The WWE Universe can always make use of a good Heel and Owens gets that assignment so, get over it all ready (^_~)

That just about brings us to tonight’s SmackDown. The final pieces for WrestleMania are being laid and these may be the little embellishments often left for the end of the project. The Ladies will have themselves a Tag Team Gauntlet Match to designate a #1 Contender for the Tag Team Titles. Damian Priest will see if Drew McIntyre can get hands on him with just one eye. Humberto Carrillo will be a good sport against Rey Fenix and Cody Rhodes will have a few more thoughts on the future before we get into Go Home Week.

I’m chilling with family at the moment so, the watch party will be a little distracted but I’ve managed it before without anyone letting on so, feel free to multitask. We’re lax like that over here. Stop by around 8pm PDT if you don’t know what else to do with yourself. I try to have fun.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
