RAW Sends Everyone Home. WrestleMania Approaches!
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
Enjoy the weekend? I made the most of mine. As for
the Wrestling World, there are a few things to chat about but not much so this
shouldn’t be that long of a post. Let’s get to it so we can get on with the
evening, shall we?
In the Realm of AEW, they had their Dynasty PPV and
naturally I partook to see if there were any implications for the Future. From
what I could gather, in character development only but this is not a bad thing.
It’s still early yet and understanding our players better informs us of what’s
to come.
When it comes to Jon Moxley and Will Osprey it is a
matter of Moxley being a man of his word. He warned Osprey throughout the set
up for this match that he would let Osprey do all the work and Osprey just “didn’t
hear him” and did himself in. One could say the match was won from the onset
but when Osprey decided to “take his time” as opposed to dispatch of Mox, the
mistake was made right there.
Osprey was better in terms of execution but Mox was
able to be effective when it counted and after Osprey “hurt himself” it was
just a matter of time before Mox allowed the prophecy self-fulfill. Osprey will have to
try again so, let that be a lesson to all new takers. Mox will settle in for
the long game so, be sure of where you stand. Lose the plot and he’ll leave you
wandering to your own demise.
However, this loss serves Osprey well, I think. I
appreciated his willingness to forget the numbered canvas and just mark it like
most do. The match was watchable because of that and flowed a lot more
naturally. I know Osprey is a talented performer but I’ll see a live show when
I want to see completely choreographed numbers. Pro-wrestling is fun because it
seems real. It’s live action so, though it’s all mapped out anything can still
happen. With a numbered canvas, it’s too easy to tell when one of the spots got
missed. Getting out there and “dancing” only needs good “dancers”. This dance
was well done and Osprey shows he can “be human”. It adds to a sense of
relatability that tempers the sentiment of him being a bit full of himself. He gave
himself a lesson to learn, essentially. I can give him a chance under these
conditions which I would say is a win. No one is really worried about Mox. He’ll
be fine.
I also checked out the match between Darby Allin
and Andrade as I heard it was Match of the Night and I’ll say it had the
thrills and spills. Allin seems to be improving but working with good
practitioners does that and I’ll admit that Andrade is one of the best. Andrade
seemed to help polish Allin up and Allin remained hard hitting and fearless in
his quest for victory. He surprised Andrade with the win and I can live with
that.
Over in the WWE Universe, well, what did I tell ya.
I said they’d chap our hides and they’re letting Pat McAfee chap away. He got a
lot of shit for his awkward attempts at shit talk on last week’s SmackDown.
WWE is playing up the “backlash” so I can’t take it too seriously but the IWC
was up in arms.
I would just say that he needs to practice talking
shit. Not everyone is good at it but the tenets follow being a good Heel. A good
Heel has to be liked so, good shit talk ought to be funny. His quips weren’t
funny, just mean spirited which makes it hard for us to see the point. He got
the “bad boos” and that’s not exactly a problem but it did sour some of this
lead up. They may let Cody Rhodes exact some revenge to serve as a sort of mouthwash
for the sour taste this exchange left. I called it, so not surprised but you
guys have to remember who you’re dealing with. This company loves to say, “Fuck
you!” If you haven’t gotten that by now, I don’t know why you still watch.
Anyway, for tonight’s RAW it’s the
WrestleMania Go Home Show so everyone is on their way to Vegas. Not much is
advertised so we’ll see what we get. What is advertised is that Seth Rollins
will give GUNTHER a final piece of his mind. Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar will size
each other up once more. And Roman Reigns has left us a pre-taped offering to
set the scene for whichever night he and CM Punk throwdown on.
We’ll get started at 6:30pm PDT for the second to last time. WrestleMania didn’t manifest for me but it looks like I’ll be at SummerSlam instead so, I’ll live. I’ll be nice and comfy at home so there are certainly worse things. Besides that, get in these final early starts and then see if you can hang when I start at 8pm PDT. You don’t have to hold out if you’ve got work in the morning. I understand. Until then…
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
